Apollo Bay Seal Apartments — Hotel in Marengo

I am surprised there are not more reviews describing the noise issues of these appartments. We had a down stairs apartment and had limited sleep due to incredibly noisy top floor neighbours. The bathroom must be directly above the master bedroom as we could hear every ‘tinkle’, flush, shower and hair drying moment that went on until 1am. Thankfully the loud voices and yelling calmed down after we pointed out to them that they were preventing the family from sleeping at 11pm.

We tried calling every number available (including the number on the reception door) to try and get assistance from management before knocking on the door ourselves. No answer or response on any provided number. A response was provided during the next morning from the apologising management saying their phone battery had died and that they hope everything settled….no! it didn’t.

I don’t think I would have booked this accommodation if I had a clearer picture of the houses/appartments being split upstairs and down. From the 1 external picture on booking page I got the impression that they were just different sized town houses. Not one down stairs, one upstairs and if you book the ‘house’ you get both the upstairs and down stairs via an opened internal door to the stairs. Having the whole house would be better if that’s what you are looking at booking as you would be in control of the noise.

Accomodation was clean inside and the early check in was appreciated. But this was completely dampened by the lack of sound proofing, noise and uncontactable management.

Location: |Actual location is in Marengo which is a short distance from Apollo bay. Entry to the apartment may be a little hard to find as you need to enter through a small lane from the main road. Parking is available but a little tight. Mounts bay beach is just a short walk away.||Reception: |Detailed check in and check out instructions were communicated via email. No contact with any of the staff was required.||Accommodation: | |Booked the 2 bedroom apartment and was allocated an apartment on the ground floor. Very good sized for 4 adults. It was clean especially the toilet which was sparkling! It has a fully functioning kitchen and all the necessary utensils. The microwave was a tad dirty and oily but was functioning well. |A washing machine was provided within the unit but not a dryer. Nevertheless a public dryer was provided free just a stone ‘s throw away. |All windows and doors were provided with a blind except the sliding door to the yard. |Unfortunately there is only one aircon for the whole apartment which may be inadequate (especially in the bedrooms) during the hotter months. Wifi was available and speedy. Beds were comfortable and linens provided were clean...
