My partner and I have just spent a couple of days at Hidden Grove Retreat near Boyup Brook in WAs South West.||We choose Hidden Valley Retreat as an alternative to a stay in Swan Valley which was booked out of all decent accommodation.||We really didn’t know much about the region and was pleasantly to find quite a lot of farming, produce and forrests in abundance in the area. It is very pretty.||Hidden Grove Retreat is as the name suggests - Hidden…admittedly we came via Grimwade and it was all dirt roads to get there, it made us feel very isolated. However when we left it was all sealed roads. Take your time getting there.||The retreat itself is actually in a RedGum Forrest, a lovely and very different surprise.||I had never been to a Red Gum Forrest (RedGum are Marri trees) and it was a real delight. I found it quite beautiful. The property is big and the owner invites you to walk around, which I did…I could have gotten lost in it all day, there is a strange surreal quality about this Forrest. ||There are 3 units in all, they are far enough away that you don’t notice your neighbors much and we didn’t see another living soul our whole stay.||The chalets are all self contained and you only need to bring food and drink. We ordered the romantic special which came with food on arrival…recommend this.||The cottages are probably 20-30 years old and are well maintained. However they are old. The spa on the balcony deck was great we got much use out of this and it was ready for us when we got there, it was always a lovely temp.||Hidden Grove Retreat is a good price and if you want to see a different part of the world and stay somewhere unique then give it a go.||It is a real getaway from the world as you immerse yourself in a Forrest...
Read moreWe were greeted on arrive by a wonderful host. She not only went over our chalet but features to the area and surrounds that would be recommended. The chalets are set away from the reception and quite private, even though there are two other chalets somewhat close by). You hardly notice the other chalets, as everyone was here for the same reason, to relax and take in the serenity of the property. The chalet itself was very tidy and extremely clean! The spa was ready to go for us and the patio well kept. We paid for a package that included breakfast and a BBQ pack, which was definitely worth its money. We paid for two nights but wish we had the time to stay for three or four, its is such a beautiful, quiet area. Would highly recommend to anyone that wants to get away from the fast pace life of work etc or just for that weekend away ❤️ I thank Hidden Grove Retreat for creating a wonderful...
Read moreTony and Tracey were wonderful hosts throughout our three night stay in February in the king/spa chalet 'Kalamata'. It was home away from home with everything we needed already there. We made great use of the giant chess board and tennis court, took a trip into Collie and watched the stars from the spa on the deck. It was just perfect. I'd love to return in Winter and sit in front of the beautiful, wood fire. The wifi wasn't great so we couldn't watch the movies that we'd downloaded onto the Ipad for the trip but that was fine, perfect opportunity to get my partner to watch Dirty Dancing from their DVD collection :) The aircon made the hot weather bearable and cooled the whole chalet. Both of the other chalets were occupied throughout our stay but we didn't hear and barely saw other guests. I'd highly recommend Hidden Grove Retreat to others looking for a bush get away. ...
