Lavender Farm — Hotel in Melbourne

While the setting for Lavender Farm is beautiful, the house itself needs a really good clean. There was gunk in the plug holes of the sinks until I cleaned them, the walls and skirting boards are grubby, there are heaps of bugs in all the light shades, the range hood is filthy, as is a lot of equipment and plates in the kitchen, and the carpets are really dirty.||Having three dogs running around the place when it’s raining doesn’t help.||To make matters worse, I have bites (not mosquitoes) all over my torso. So, lovely countryside but there needs to be a lot of cleaning to make this...

The homemade bread and cake were excellent. Breakfast items were good. Access to the vegetable garden to pick your own was lovely. Owner was very pleasant. It was quiet with just a tiny bit of barking from nearby kennels. Views were nice. It was quite expensive for just two of us at a weekend. Close enough to Healesville. ||I just thought it was all a bit run down and tired. At the price it should have been refurbished including new outdoor furniture and thoroughly cleaned as it was a bit dusty in parts inside. Rustic is OK but it needed some love...
