A very beautiful setting, enjoyed the magnificent Autumn colours on display during the Easter long weekend. Campground is large, and close to many gardens to visit. No shops nearby, so 25 minutes to Mt Victoria or 35 minutes to Lithgow. You need to come well prepared. This is a walk in site, you cannot camp next to your car or trailer, however you can park close by only a few meters away. The rain water tank is small, unfortunately people waste and allow the tap to run in-between washes. In consideration of others, please turn off tap when not in use. Drop toilets are filthy. Suggest your own set up. Sad to say some choose to leave toilet paper scattered in bushes and not bury their waste. Revolting! During the Easter break, some revelled during the early morning without consideration for others, whilst others used chainsaws during the evening. I sincerely hope Blue Mountains council can introduce a booking system and manage the grounds better. This would be a five star camping ground if it was properly managed. Such a shame its spoilt by campers who lack etiquette. I’m giving this one...

2hr 20 minutes from Sydney where I live it's nice. Not much wood to be found here but fire pits are well done. It's higher and a lot cooler so you will need fires at night and a nice bottle. Load up with wood drive in with it rug up. There is a 45 minute waterfall walk down the road by car like 10 minutes it's a nice loop walk. And there's longer walks. Mt Wilson is a rural residential area with a nice leafy feel to it. The camping area is about a 15 to 20 min walk to the bush fire brigades HQ buildings not much else around except a nice private garden to view for 5 acres for a $10 entry which includes tea and biscuits which I'd go to but havent been to yet. Lots of Tree Ferns and overhanging canopy around this area that make a tunnel out of the roads and tracks. Water tank at the site is non potable, there are seats and tables and log bollards to sit on. Toilets are a bit disgusting but not the worst I've seen. There are some roofed structures with tables and chairs. Overall a pleasant area. This place is large but I'd say quite busy on a...

It’s a free campground in Mount Wilson, NSW. There are toilets with toilet paper, firepits, benches and table, water for washing and cleaning, rubbish bins and pets are allowed too. There is very little phone reception (Telstra and Optus around the rain water tank) and is very inconsistent. Toilets are non flushable. Bring you own drinking water and firewood. Collecting wood from around the area is not allowed. No booking necessary. Just walk in and camp. Nice 10 minutes walk of Cathedral of Ferns and the Giant tree (the tree which was struck with lightning in 2008). Enough space for camper vans, trailers etc. Free car parking available. Disabled car parking spots are also there. Cannot take your car to the campsite but can camp on the ground right next to the dirt road and can park on the dirt road. Most firepits and benches are on the boundary of the campground (open area in the middle also available for tent camping), so makes it easier to camp very close to your parked car. Some people playing loud...

Well maintained beautiful free campground. * Sealed road access * Easy 2wd access * The open grassy campsite as well as a secluded bush camping area * Campsites are unmarked * Only one toilet block with two male and female toilets. Plenty of paper towels, hand wash soap and hand sanitiser * Contained fire pits and picnic tables * Vehicle access to the campsite is blocked, making the ground clean, soft and flat, which is a plus. * Plenty of gardens to visit near the campsite, including but not limited to Bisley garden, Bebeah Garden, Merry Grath Garden and Nooroo Garden. * Telstra reception with patchy 4G network * Bring your firewood, drinking water, tent, and warm sleeping bag. Night can get chilly here. If you are coming from Sydney, do not come through Mount Victoria; come through Bilpin instead. The Darling Causeway from Mount Victoria to Bells Line of Road have 100s of enormous potholes. Its speed limit is 80kph, but if you drive at that limit, congrats you are a pilot now 🫡😀.
