What a charming oasis. Emus to the left, sand dessert to the right. An awe inspiring location. We booked on Airbnb but there are many other ways to book as well. It was $90 with tax a night for us. For a caravan stay. My friend and I came for a stay while on a wildflower hunt in the National Parks around Nambung. Brian the owner was a grand old fella, and the there were the loveliest people staying there. We went early September 2020, so early spring it was very quiet and only a few other guests. I hear they have a country music festival they run and that would be a wild time. The facilities were clean and just what you need. A community kitchen and bbq, a glorious massive fire pit to surround at night and enjoy the glow and warmth of. Plus in the trailer there was a gas stove and basic dishes and serving things. We brought our own coffee plunger but the kettle was there for use, and the serving utensils and kit. The community gas bbq was well kept and easy to maintain when cooking with others staying there, encouraging outback culture of sharing. They have station tours available each morning, two hour long exploring adventures guided by the owner or managers, hearing the 100 year history of the place and visual story of the land and things on it. It’s $25 for adults and $10 for children. Might be your thing when on a lounging holiday when not on too tight of a budget. I loved staying here, and I will be back though next time I’d like to camp out. They have extensively appropriate showers and toilets designated for ladies and gents, the walks are nice and the sheep and emus near by give such a restful farm feel. I recommend staying on this station stay and look forward to finding others and comparing them to this joyful Nambung...

There is 13km of unsealed road to cover in order to reach the station. A standard 2WD vehicle is fine on this road. The way to Nambung Station is clearly signposted and the gravel road is well maintained.

At the station you will find excellent facilities including toilets, showers, camp kitchen as well as powered sites and unpowered campsites. If you're looking for somewhere to camp out of the wind: there is a wind break that provides some protection (but this won't always be enough depending on your tent and how bad the wind is). There is no shade if you're camping and the wind can get very strong.

There's well appointed caravans for hire that have added extentions that will easily accommodate families. All facilities are well maintained and clean.

In terms of activities: there's animal feeding for the kids and a station tour. If you're in to photography: there's a decent amount of things to shoot including an amazing and unpolluted night sky.

Thanks and her husband for Jo and her husband for accommodating me and my young family at short notice when our other accommodation plans fell over... literally. You saved us a long and miserable drive...

Thank you Poppi for your prompt response when we tingled you about our late arrival. We would definitely have to apologise as we were held up during our motorhome collection for 3 hours.+

Wonderful campsite, we must say. We got ourself a powered site, which is just a stone throw to all the camp amentities, kitchen, showers, toilets e.t.c. (and this lovely reservation was made way back in end 2024)

Hard work has been put in by the management for keeping the facilties, showers, toilets, camp surroundings clean.

Woken up to a beautiful chilly morning and did a walkabout, admiring all the farm animals along with a magnificent sunrise.

Love the quiet place, away from the hustle & bustle of city life. You'll have to negotiate the last 25km or so (in & out), of driving on an unpaved road, but this wasn't an issue for us.

Given an opportunity, we would have no qualms of coming back to Nambung again, a 2 hour drive from Perth. it's a pity that being a cloudy night the sky was covered making astronomy photography impossible.

Would definitely want to capture the milky-way and star studded skies of Nambung next time round.

Thank you, and...
