The Retreat Beach Houses — Hotel in Peregian Beach

The lack of a bathroom in the top living level is something you need to be aware of. Don't stay here if stairs are a concern. We were not greeted by staff at reception for over ten mins, and it was rather confused cleaning staff that greeted me, certainly not in a position to take payment or advise how this might be completed. We left early because of (in part) the tree loping noise and lack of privacy. Meant we had well enough, but there was again no one to access at 7:10 to check out. The first response from managant would likely be we left too early, outside of ours, we also arrived before the 2pm check in, but this is not our first rodeo, not should it be considered theirs. Communicate and provide customer service. To have money withdrawn without consultation, or notice has meant they took money from an account we were not ready to have it taken from. That has cost personally, where the hell is the communication? Don't touch my money without talking first... Good position, pretty good accommodation, but management leaves a lot...

April 2023|I stayed in a beach house only 3 mns to the beach. I could hear the waves crashing against the shore at night, that’s how close the cottage was. |A 20 Minute beach walk takes you to Peregian Village where shops and cafes abound (Hand of Fatima wins for breakfast with a Turkish twist, heavenly!) then you walk back to recover! ||As a solo traveler without a car, I recommend that you carry a lightweight rucksack to buy provisions or takeaways for your meals back at the cottage. |There is a fully equipped kitchen, and resting area on the top floor, and spotless rooms and bathrooms below. Having such an ample space all to myself was a luxury! ||It’s straightforward to get around from here with buses, Uber drivers (I got picked up by Teslas), or use the airport buses to get back home. It’s easier than you think! ||The Retreat also provides beach towels and umbrellas so you don’t have to take that with you.||I highly recommend this location if you are looking for a peaceful oasis by the beach.|Thank you Gavra and...

The quality of accomodation and the location are perfect. The houses are clean and well maintained. However, the management - not too sure. We booked in advance, paid the deposit, they did not delete our credit card details, and then used those stored details to charge us full amount the night before our arrival. We asked them to issue us a refund so we could pay using a different credit card, as this is how we wanted it done. They refused. Also, they indicated in their confirmation that the payment would be by contactless upon arrival. Basically, we felt that by retaining our credit card details without our approval, they were in control of our bank account and denied us our right to use an alternative payment method. Anyone making a booking with them should be aware of these tactics. They set their system for their own convenience, not yours. 5 stars for accommodation, location and quality. 0 stars for management's attitude....
