BIG4 Hervey Bay Holiday Park — Hotel in Point Vernon

we arrived on the 3rd of January been here many times, staff are amazing and so welcoming, I asked the manager if he had some tools to fix bikes yesterday & he gave his tools no worries, and I was so grateful

My family & I committed on how clean the bathrooms were, from the minute we used them, It's a lovely safe camp ground were the children can have fun and play no worries, the children aged 4-12 love it as do we

A staff member was so amazing when it started raining he could see us moving beds at 10.30 at night & he stopped by and asked if we were okay or needed anything

The games room is awesome, and it has air-conditioning for children to cool down and games to play (a lot better than in the past)

As for the BBQ area and kitchen hell, that's clean as I have cooked in the a few times since arriving and will continue to do so because it is always clean

This big 4 classic camp is the best by far, children can be children and actually live their best life and have fun and it doesn't cost more money to do so

We have family here from nz that have never camped before, and they are amazed how clean, friendly staff are & safe the camp is, they would love to come back here to big 4 Hervey Bay on there next trip to Australia.

What I do not like is that fact that there were 3 children unsupervised in the pool even though there is a big sign saying that children should be supervised, and the children in question, where putting sunblock in the pool, then pulling chairs into the pool and almost hitting one of my 4 year olds. When asked, "Not do it, the children gave dirty looks and continued to pull chairs in at other end pool. (I went and told the manager and he responded immediately & very professionally Then the little angels played dum when the parents arrived at pool, parents then blame it on other children then the pool gate was left open by the parents to which I do not agree with as children could have run in from anywhere & fall in pool When I closed the gate, I was meet with dirty looks from the little angels' parents who were now sitting in the BBQ area

The same children were in the toilets more than once, pulling toilet paper out and putting all over the place wet & dry (girl and boy), and I cleaned it up as I thought it was very disappointing to see.

We will continue to return as this is by far the best camp,

I guess if people want the Hilton, then maybe they shouldn't come to this amazing big 4 classic camp where amazing memories are made and...

We stayed at the big 4 Hervey Bay over Easter 2024 and we were incredibly disappointed.

We booked a pet friendly cabin that slept 4, online the photos show an updated cabin with a seperate sleeping and eating areas that could be closed by doors. When we arrived we did not receive this cabin, we received an old, dirty cabin with no sections for eating and sleeping.

On the first night we arrived the kids beds sheets were dirty (hadn’t been changed just remade), the floors were filthy and the bathroom doors didnt work properly. I called the after hours number which was disconnected so walked to the office, I did find a member of staff and they came and changed the sheets and offered to mop the floors. (The staff were friendly and accomodating)

The next morning the staff came and mopped the floors but sadly we think the floors need a desperate scrub or to be ripped up and new fresh flooring laid. (Attached are photos of our feet after one night walking around, no we didn’t walk barefoot outside and had shoes on beforehand)

The next day I spoke to the owner and he offered a partial (one night refund) for the issues.

However, he stated that it’s the Big 4 who run the website and it’s their job to update the photos in regards to the cabins. This is not on at all and straight up false advertising, we did NOT receive the room we booked and payed for.

We payed a lot of money for what we thought would be a nice place but unfortunately it really ruined our holiday. We left 2 days early as we couldn’t stay in the cabin anymore as it was nothing as advertised and did not suit our needs. (We did receive a refund for those nights)

The park itself is in need of upgrades and I was told management are doing them.

We just want to make sure no one else books here thinking they’ll get the cabins that are in the photos on the website as we did and not receive what was expected.

Hopefully they can improve the park, update the website with correct information and reconnect the after hours...

Well, I'm in the air with this one, hence the 2 stars. Lovely, friendly owners. But that's where it ends unfortunately. ||I really don't understand how they got the big 4 name, as it isn't what you expect from a big 4. I'm confused in how they operate under the big 4 banner, because it does NOT fair up with the majority of big 4. I guess I had bigger expectations....||The park is undergoing renovations and rebuilds which was horribly noisy throughout the day with the angle grinders, hammering and nail gun etc. Not the piece and tranquillity you expect. I would've appreciated the heads up on arrival.||The park is very small with very narrow roads, and almost everyone struggled parking the vans during our stay. We needed to move our car, so one couple could reverse onto their site that was opposite ours. The amenities and laundry room are very outdated. The laundry only had one working dryer and two working washingmachines, so there was a line up for it, which was inconvenient when we had the day planned out. Anyhow, Denise said they were sick of repairing the other 2 dryers and will be look into replacing them. A little too late for us current visitors. In the bathroom, you are required to mop the shower out when finished showering, which is a first for me (it'd be like a motel telling you to strip the beds before you leave). The toilets have scum build up, which feels dirty. I truly feel they should've concentrated on the amenities before their house and cabin upgrades. Customer satisfaction should have been a priority over a new 2 story home and refurbished cabins sorry.||As we generally free camp everywhere, it wasn't an option in Hervey Bay, so when I googled parks around the area, I chose the big 4 due to its high reputation of a larger family park. Sadly this was not the case here... I'm sorry, but I don't see the "exciting new upgrades", that you keep mentioning. I should've read the...
