Bellarine Spa Wellness & Retreat — Hotel in Portarlington

Stayed here for 3 nights with a Luxury Escape deal which included the couples massage and sauna which was brilliant. Arrived on Saturday and greeted by Jo who showed us our room and explained how things worked etc. The room was lovely and spacious, tastefully decorated, a large selection of breakfast items provided like yoghurt, fruits, fruit bread, crumpets, jams/honey etc plus coffee machine! The bathroom was also spacious and had a very large spa bath. Tv worked really well and came with full Foxtel channels, DVD player (many available at reception) and radio. There are only 3 rooms here and loved the peaceful surrounds. You need a car if staying here, as you are a little out of town. Didn't use the pool as we were too busy visiting wineries and the local sights. Cannot understand anyone not enjoying the facilities here (as one reviewer from U.K.). Would highly. I consider myself lucky to have found this hidden gem. Unlike most accommodations I've booked online and stayed at, Bellarine Spa Wellness & Retreat is actually even better than it appears online. The rooms are spacious and pleasant, the spa is absolutely outstanding and the owners John and Maria are two of the most genuinely hospitable and kind people I've met. Their willingness to go out of their way to make our stay (which was just one night, mind you!) as perfect as it could be simply blew me away! To add to the outstanding experience, massages are available on-site and Bellarine Spa Wellness & Retreat is idyllically located a short drive away from town, a short walk from the beach and surrounded by serenity. I found this relaxation massage very inappropriate..... the massage therapist used this platform to speak about her personal opinions and beliefs......I found the whole thing off putting and she had no right to use my session time, time that I had paid above the local rate for , to project her beliefs and opinions on me. I couldn’t believe the things that she was saying to me and in no forum was it right to project her thoughts onto me. I did not find this whole experience at all relaxing and even after alerting the owner of this property to what happened during my session time was I offered any compensation for my uncomfortableness about the...
