My husband and I stayed 2 nights in the dog friendly, queen cottage, with a country view.|We were greeted by a dog who was very friendly. The checkin was contact less. |First impressions were already disappointing. We made our way to our 'cottage'. The garden areas were neglected and overgrown with weeds. The front steps were covered in fake grass, with real grass growing through it, nails popping out. The porch was dirty and small.|There were overgrown shrubs in front of the verandah blocking any view. There was a plant, in full fruit, growing through the verandah known as Beladona or Deadly nightshade. A very poisonous weed. Not a good plant to have growing in a child and dog friendly environment.|Inside the squeeking front door, with a lock that was less than secure, we were gob smacked by the unkempt and unloved condition of this accommodation. Curtains hanging down, grubby bench tops, unfinished paint, filthy light fittings with dead bugs in them. A tiny dining table with one placement cut in half. In the bathroom, the fan was not working, and we found the wiring for it in the drawer. There was 1 small set of drawers and 1 small cupboard. The double hot plate was not working on one side. The BBQ looked very uninviting as the cover was fithy and sticky. The bed was warm and comfortable but not a queen as advertised. There is NO restaurant or food served as advertised. |There were no dog bowls or bed. Not even for water. The area for the dog to run around in was not secured by a fence or gates. Nor was the verandah.|I have never left a negative review for any place we've stayed at. But the neglect of this place was unbelievable, particularly given the price we paid. I feel like it is falsely advertised big time. It's a shame. This accommodation has so much potential. We...
Read moreTerrible Terrible!!! We booked this motel to stay one night during easter break with my wife as was very close to 12 Apostles. We arrived at the motel late afternoon, room was stinky and not properly cleaned. We said no worries and took a shower and start eating dinner then noticed there is a MASSIVE huntsman spider in the corner of the room, was really scary. I managed to take it out of the room. There was a tin of almost empty insect spray in the room. We spray all around the room then all spiders of different sizes started crawling the wall. We couldn't stay in the room as we couldn't kill all spiders and didn't know how many spiders are hidden in the corner of the room. There was a big spider skin off in the corner of the room (see attached photo), i guess that massive spider was living there for a long period of time, which means they never properly cleaned the room. We just packed our stuff and put them in our car and back and sleep all night inside my car. We couldn't sleep as was freezing at night. When the guy came to the motel I told him what happened, i was really angry as couldn't sleep at night and woke up with a headache. He told me he will refund it (they charged us $209 for one night!!!) then he cancelled our booking on booking.com (I think he did to not to write a negative review) Next day he said won't refund fully and took $60 of our money. What the hell are you doing here!!!!
Ok, If you are someone who enjoy sleeping with spiders, congratulations, you definitely found your...
Read moreIf you are after the closest accommodation to the Twelve Apostles with a country feel, then this is the one for you. We got to the accommodation after hours but there was no issue retrieving our key and checking in. The room had all the necessary amenities for our overnight stay (clean towels, hot shower, comfy bed, fridge, kettle, etc). The walk to the Twelve Apostles early the next morning was incredible as we were able to experience the serenity and beauty of the lush farms. We even encountered a fox, a few kangaroos, and a stray cow. We literally had the Twelve Apostles to ourselves (only a couple other tourists made it that early in the morning). When we got back to the motel to prepare to check-out, we were greeted by the local fluffy doggy and had the chance to enjoy watching the colourful birds feed on the seeds that the host had spread. I must say we absolutely enjoyed our stay and would be back again in the near future.
On the other hand, if you are after a modern accommodations with all the comforts then this isn't going to impress you. You can probably stay a bit further away in Port Campbell and drive to the Twelve Apostles early to...
