Finniss River Lodge is set in the NT on 50,000 acres, 200 square kilometres, 27kms in length and is a working cattle station that has diversified into luxury tourism. Our stay has been customised to our personalised needs. That includes what activities we want to do, how often and how active we want to be. We have had our very own chef Lachlan, tailor our 5 star meals to what, how much we want to eat and when we want to eat. Sian is on hand to make us a coffee, cocktail or offer us a wine from their cellar. Our every whim has been catered for. The staff are knowledgeable in the own areas making this the most extraordinary experience. Olivia has shared the afternoon sunset with us accompanied by canapes and champagne with the cattle who are so tame. We have seen the diversity of the land which includes arid termite spaces, thick bush scrub, rocky outcrops, wetlands full of water lillies, teatreas and crocodiles. Pete our guide has taken us around the property in buggies and has fast knowledgeof the property and all its locals. We have been bird watching and found close to 30 or more different species. I'm not very bird worldly but what we have seen has been spectacular and I am hooked. We have seen wallabies, snakes and dingoes. We have been for a ride with experienced guides Chase and Brad on an airboat. Here we glided through large grasses, up creeks and what would be paddocks in the dry season. Brad and Chase talked crocodillia whilst I stood in disbelief and watched the prehistoric beast swim towards us. I said I liked orchids and today was shown a local guru with over 34000 orchids walk me through their nursery. Finally,we just pulled over to the side of the road to be shown a local Bower bird nest because Rob mentioned he hadn't seen one before. A truly once in a...
Read moreAmazing place! Itâs advertised as a 4 star hotel buts itâs 5 star all the way. The service is outstanding. The food is to die for. The bar service and food preparation was best with coffee every morning at the bar and breakfast from 6.00am with Lachy the chef and Sian at the bar. All activities arranged every day with packed morning tea and afternoon teas. Between tours we were back at the lodge for lunch and the a small break before the afternoon activities. The First day we did cows and canapĂ©s with Liv moistened with a couple of glasses of champagnes awesome. Every morning we explored the station over 50000 acres with Peter our amazing guide. A great bloke with years of knowledge of bird and wildlife. Peter, a local was like our best mate after knowing him for 1 day thanks Peter. We checked out the airboat with Chase and Brad to see the wetland bird life and of course the crocs. The airboat ride was fun enough but having close encounters with crocs blew us away. The whole time having crocs right at the boat we felt safe with the Chase and Brad experienced in handling crocs at close quarters. The sunsets are amazing the best you can find. The stars at night were fantastic as you could see all the constellations and the full Milky Way. A real adventure touching base with country. Iâm an Australian and I was blown away. If you are from overseas and want a real taste of Australia this is the only place to go. Thank you to all the crew at Finniss Lodge for making our stay so...
Read moreAn unforgettable experience in the heart of the Top End! Finniss River Lodge is pure magic. I recently organised a conference group to spend the day at the lodge, and it was hands down one of the most memorable experiences weâve had. The team made every guest feel welcome and completely at ease, providing a seamless and personalised experience from start to finish.
The lodge itself is stunningâset against a breathtaking landscape that feels a world away. The facilities are beautifully designed, and the attention to detail throughout the property is next level.
One of the standout elements of our visit was the food. Every dish was exceptionalâbeautifully presented, packed with flavour, and thoughtfully created using native ingredients. The chef Lachlan, crafted a dining experience that could easily rival top restaurants, and it was a true highlight of the day.
Whether it was the immersive activities, the warm hospitality, or the peaceful surrounds, the entire day left a lasting impression on our group.
If you're looking for a luxury experience that captures the essence of the Northern Territory while delivering world-class service, Finniss River Lodge is a must. I canât wait to return!
