I would highly avoid this place it ridiculously over priced. Give this place a miss! We stayed 1 night. After a discussion with the onsite manager. as to why this place was so expensive. The comments were 'we are the cheapest in the area. The owners from Melbourne I just work here'. They charge $13 per child over 3 per night! $78 for a family of 4 for a powered site! They couldn't justify why the price was so high and compared to other parks in the area. That are actually on the beach and have cheaper rates for sites and children. Considering the appallingly state of the place I was shocked. The managers response was you don't have to stay here. It is clear why the other parks in the area are full. And this place wasn't. I wouldn't want to be at this place in peak season!

The place was shocking. The driveway access felt like we were driving along a 4x4 track (Grand Canyon) to get to our elevated bush site. Large eucalyptus trees all throughout the park and signs with signs saying beware falling limbs. Likely an attempt to cover liability in case of an incident. We washed our clothes $4 a load. I wish we didn't. Our clothes came out smelling of wet dog. 🤢 The amenities block was nothing short of disgusting. Central toilet block smelt like a euro trash hostel.🤢 The disability bathroom had no access for a wheelchair, Not even a footpath to the camp kitchen and seating area?? Everything about this place was off. Needs a massive renovation to even come close to a satisfactory standard. Dump point located at bottom of park very long a bumpy road down Grand canyon to dump it. Pool looked dirty and appeared to be leaking. Rusty damage shower cubicles. I will never go back and wish I had researched the reviews on wiky camp prior.

Not the Dive I was expecting to...

Pretty good camping here. Very nice area surrounded by loads of trees (not so great for solar panels though) and wildlife (bush turkeys, birds and goannas). Sites were an ok size, but would have liked more room so the neighbours werent as close.

It has all required facilities - bush kitchen, skip bins, toilets, etc. A little dated, but did the job. They were about a 100m walk from our unpowered site.

A dog-friendly beach is an 800m walk down a rocky, bumpy, sandy and muddy 4WD track. It wasnt an overly pleasant walk with a 2 year old, so I'd recommend heading to 1770 or Agnes main beach in the car if you're in that situation. We drove the 4WD track one day which made life a bit easier - but the track can only accommodate 1 car at a time, so I wouldn't like to cross paths with another car coming the opposite way.

The crowd that was there during the Easter holidays were very noisy and there were a lot of bogans around. They had no regard for other campers - lots of yahooing and loud music. A bit annoying when you want your toddler to go to sleep. It didn't carry on after 9pm though.

We got hammered by midgees during our stay and mozzies were around (despite using a Thermacell, Aeroguard and citronella candles). Come prepared.

The attached fish n chip shop is bloody fantastic! Best fish n chips I've had. Highly recommend.

Overall, it was a good stay, but I have had nicer camp grounds. Being pet-friendly is...

A few years ago I stayed here for a long weekend and again this past week for 3 nights. I was a bit disappointed to see the cabins have had absolutely no updating. The one we stayed smelled musty.  There were hand prints all over the glass door. Bird droppings on the balcony. (Can forgive that due to the nature setting, the other are cleaning issues) This is a wonderful park in a great location but I think the accommodations need some updating. And better attention to cleaning, especially considering guests are expected to leave it tidy upon checkout. For nearly $200 a night, one would expect much more than a tired, old feeling cabin with not so comfortable beds. TV reception was shocking but really only an issue for people who stay long term or enjoy a bit of Tele at night. With a bit more TLC, this Holiday Village could be exceptional. I have read there have been some improvements by other reviewers, They must all be cosmetic or van related. The park looked exactly the same as it did several years ago. Staff are lovely as always. Owners need to take a good look at the conditions of the Cabins and spend some $$ on making them more appealing and perhaps utilise the small space inside better. Apart from that what a great area to get away. So peaceful (visited before school holidays, enough said) I hope this review is helpful and not taken the wrong way. And good luck, I know this place has a tonne...

A group of 5 with a large dog across 2 powered sites spent 4 days here during Xmas. Such a lovely campsite, we were near the trail that leads to the surf beach which is only 10-15mins walk away (it was beautiful). Our site was set amongst plenty of bushland with Kookaburras, Kangaroos and plenty of bush turkeys too. Lovely quiet nights sleep and wonderful to be woken up by the sounds of birds. Only 20-30mins walk into town and 1770, which was nice to do as we were on holiday and it’s another option if you don’t want to drive everywhere all the time. The facilities were always kept clean, nice hot showers and clean bathrooms and kitchen area. The staff were friendly and very helpful also! I was so pleasantly surprised by this campsite, especially as it was a busy period. The only thing we were concerned about was the amount of ants nest across both our sites, however they soon retreated and we used tarp to cover the nests. I would absolutely recommend this place to stay and I would definitely go back to stay. Also, bonus points for being dog friendly! Thank you Captain Cook crew, keep up the fabulous work you are doing.
