We don’t recommend this place If you’re looking for a nice place to stay with your family.
I am writing to provide detailed feedback regarding the numerous issues my family and I encountered during our recent stay at Tasman Holiday Parks Ballina. Our experience on sites 119 & 120 from April 2nd to April 6th was nothing short of a nightmare, marred by a series of frustrating incidents and appalling customer service.
Upon our arrival, we were greeted by the receptionist, who, to our dismay, turned out to be the manager of the park. Her sour demeanor set a negative tone from the outset. Despite our attempts to remain optimistic, the problems began almost immediately. When we attempted to hook up to our power station, we discovered that only one out of the four power spots worked. We promptly informed the receptionist-cum-manager, who callously brushed off our concerns and promised to send the groundsman to investigate.
The groundsman's response was equally disappointing. Upon his arrival, he offered no solution and merely suggested that we plug our cord into the side of the ensuite, with the assurance that an electrician would be dispatched the following day. This lack of urgency and accountability was infuriating, especially considering the inconvenience it caused us.
The next day, when we inquired about the status of the electrical issue, we were met with indifference and ignorance from the receptionist-cum-manager. It was only when we insisted on speaking to her again that any action was taken. However, the encounter with her and the groundsman was nothing short of insulting. They rudely informed us that the power station we had attempted to use was only intended for one power point and accused us of being "greedy." This condescending attitude was utterly unacceptable and left us feeling belittled and disrespected.
Furthermore, we brought to their attention the malfunctioning light switch in ensuite 120 and the stuck door handle in ensuite 119. Their response to this was they are fine. Rather than addressing these legitimate concerns, the manager hastily dismissed them without offering any solutions. This lack of attention to detail and disregard for guest comfort was appalling and indicative of the overall poor management of the park.
Then, the next day, with all the rain we had experienced over the past few days, we needed to use the washing machines. To our dismay, we discovered that only one out of the four washing machines was in order, and the other three were out of order. Despite our attempts to do laundry, the one functioning machine stopped working halfway through the load, leaving our belongings trapped inside. When my husband went to inform the receptionist-cum-manager, she called the groundsman (her husband) and had her phone on speaker. Upon hearing that the only working washing machine had now also malfunctioned, he responded with profanity and frustration. This unprofessional behaviour was deeply disappointing and added to our already considerable frustration.
Throughout our stay, it became increasingly clear that the management of Tasman Holiday Parks Ballina prioritised the needs of permanent residents over those of paying guests. This attitude is not only disrespectful but also detrimental to the reputation...
Read moreA pristine, perfectly landscaped tropical Oasis. Beautiful small park with lots of palm trees, nice green grassy sites around perfectly placed concrete pads for your annex or awning. No unsightly permanent vans like you see in other parks. Beautiful clean pool & spa. Gardeners, cleaners & maintenance seen working every day to keep everything perfect. The amenities very clean & also noticed when the cleaners were cleaning onsuite, they were even replacing shower curtains with each use. Tracey and the other ladies in reception very friendly & helpful. Our tow car broke down while we were at the park, and they offered to take us in to town before we were able to get a rental car. We were forced to leave our caravan at the park for a while & had absolutely no worries about it's safety. After we were finally able to move the van on, we were even sent a follow up message to see we had gotten home safely & the car was doing ok! We could not have asked for a more perfect place to get "stuck" at. Highly recommend this park if you are wanting to stay around Ballina area. It is a 5 minute drive to local shopping centre (includes Woolworths) short drive to Lennox heads, not far at all from Ballina and an easy drive to Byron Bay, making it the perfect position to explore the area. We don't have small kids, but they do have plenty of facilities to keep them amused also. Overall, one of the best places we've...
Read moreNOT A PARK FOR ANYONE WITH A TENT! I booked a powered ensuite sight for my partner's birthday. Looking at previous reviews, we were pretty happy with the spot. However, on our first night, it rained. The weather was not a problem; the issue was that the campsite had 0 undercover areas to shelter or eat our dinner, and the park did not state that half the park amenities were shut down due to maintenance. The park had a community hall, which we ended up finding by looking at the signs however, we got in trouble with the residents as it is not meant to be open to the campers of the park and apparently, there are lines on the floor stating this (that you cannot see in the dark, let alone whilst raining). There are 2 portable BBQs with a small canopy over them. However, the small picnic table next to these is out in the rain. This is the "camp kitchen", with a fridge in the laundry area. We ended up packing up and leaving with our son as the rain was expected to continue all weekend and left late Friday night, dropping our keys at the after-hours key box (which was broken too, no after hours number). Disappointed considering the $ nowadays & I cannot get a refund or cancel unless it's 72...
