Positives: Good location, close to Montville with great cafes & restaurants, plenty of tourist attractions nearby, great scenic drives thru the Sunshine Coast hinterland, less than 1/2 hour from the beach, lovely property. The glamping tent itself was very well constructed, nicely laid out & much bigger than expected. There are some very nice touches such as the claw foot bath, beautiful taps, huge shower which can be left open to the bush if desired, swivel log fire, nice lamps and importantly, an excellent king size bed. Negatives: Communication on arrival was lacking. I looked everywhere for some regular black tea bags & found none. There was some loose leaf tea & a pot but no strainer, so I still couldn't satisfactorily make a cup of tea. Decided to have a coffee instead but there was no easy way to make one ( i.e a pod coffee maker). I did find an espresso machine but couldn't find any coffee to go in it! Shane later told me that it was his philosophy not to use tea bags containing any plastic (which he says 99% of them do) and not to use pod coffee makers because of the aluminium pods. That's all fine, as long as all this is explained to guests on (or preferably before) arrival so guests have the option to bring their own tea bags & coffee maker. Shane also pointed out there was in fact some coffee for the espresso machine but it was in an unmarked jam jar in the fridge! I bought the breakfast package (not cheap at $76) and was looking forward to cooking a nice hot breaky. Woke up at 5.30 as usual & started taking all the cooking gear out to the BBQ. Alas, no cooking oil & couldn't find a sharp knife to cut the tomatoes, etc. (I was later told the knife was under the bench amongst the frypans, not with the other cutlery, where you would expect it to be). I rang & left a message for Shane at 8.15 but didn't receive a response, so ended up waiting for the cafes to open in Montville & had a terrific breakfast there. Shane eventually called me back at 11.30am and offered a $xx refund, but it certainly put a dampener on the whole experience. The first night I was desperately keen to light a nice fire & was devastated to find that only large logs were on hand with only firelighters & newspaper to light them - no kindling. As it was dark & raining outside, it wasn't an option to go hunting for wood, so any hopes of a fire were dashed. Note that Shane later told me that he never supplies kindling & that you should be able to fire up the logs using only firelighters! I have been camping for almost 60 years and can attest that this is simply not the case. Guests need to be aware that if they want to light a fire, they will need to think about gathering their own dry kindling beforehand. Finally, and still on the subject of communication, Shane asked me to leave any suggestions in the Guest book. I was keen to do so but unfortunately there wasn't a pen! In my humble opinion, Shane has done a great job overall on the property & glamping accomodation and now just needs to have a further think about what the majority of guests want to make their stay as easy & comfortable as possible. I know you're never going to please everybody but I think if the above issues are addressed, word of mouth advertising will all be positive & the growth of the business will continue. I wish Shane & Nicole every success...
Read moreIt was above expectations. Upon arrival we were greeted with a welcome platter in one of the bar fridges.
The Glamping Tent: The wooden floor inside the tent was so clean such that we were able to walk barefoot comfortably. The beds were cleanly made and were very comfortable to sleep in. The whole tent's "walls" were mesh material which meant it kept out the bugs while you're inside the tent. But definitely bring inspect repellent, you'll definitely need it. The BBQ was easy to use situated on the small verandah along with a table and a couple of chairs. The tents position offered enough privacy as the next tent is 70m away.
What was provided: Enough cutlery for the number of people staying at the tent. For us, our family of three lived in the tent. A total of at least 4 bowls, 7 small plates, 4 large plates, 4 glasses, 4 mugs, 3 red wine glasses, 3 champagne flutes, a coffee machine with coffee grounds in the fridge, a kettle, 2 chopping boards, a knife, a pair of tongs, lindt hot chocolate, various types of tea, a bottle of milk etc. In terms of toiletries, a large bottle of shampoo, conditioner and shower were provided. Large towels and small towels were also provided.
The overall experience exceeded our expectations in regards to glamping. The cleanliness level was amazing.
Highly recommend if you want to experience glamping. The location is nicely situated not too far from the Big Pineapple, Kondalilla falls and Montville.
Personally I recommend bringing an extension cord just in case you want to use your laptop to watch movies at night or eat hotpot with an electric stove. But if not, there is more than enough USB ports and power sockets to charge phones, ipads and...
Read moreStarry Nights Luxury Tents has left a remarkable imprint etched in our hearts and memories. It was an experience that we will both cherish and remember for a lifetime. We cannot express enough how special this experience was celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary. Sunshine Coast Hinterlands has our hearts, being able to immerse ourselves in the heart of it in a tranquil and serene picturesque setting was dreamy. We got to experience the sounds of nature in all their glory: Two cute miniature goats that walked us to our tent. Lyrebirds and kookaburras. Owls and toads. Amazing thunderstorms and lightning shows. We have so many highlights from our 2 night stay, a few being: Shane’s clear communication and instructions throughout the booking process and upon arrival. The welcome platter loaded with gourmet local goodies. The variety in the English breakfast hamper. All of the furnishings in the tent, in particular, the gorgeously crafted hand basin, faucets and claw foot bath! The cloud like bed that I want and need in my life. Eating a cooked bbq breakfast outside on the deck. My favourite memory was a candlelit bubble bath, drinking tea and reading a book while a thunderstorm and lightning show was on full display! Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts Shane and Nicole. We both wish you all the best for the growth of Starry Nights and I have no doubts that we will stay again in the future. Chantelle &...
