Hi Karen. We left our stay at Bingle Tree Retreat this morning somewhat disappointed with our stay. Don't get me wrong, the location is amazing, but the experience lacked terribly with the promises made on your website. We were told to bring our own fire wood and assured that there would be a limited amount on the porch for our first night, no wood was left. We decided to retreat to the spa later in the night only to find, after following the instructions, that it didn't work. Am On Saturday we decided to go for a walk down to the creek and were entertaining the thought of a canoe ride along the creek. Very disappointed to find the creek dirty and overgrown and the canoes in a pile of grass covered in dirt. I was afraid to even move them for fear of what I might disturb. We weren't even game to sit on the hammocks as they were damp and covered in moss and mould. Getting ready for dinner, my wife showered and went to dry her hair. The hairdryer had exposed wires and frayed cord 😬. The fan switches were broken, fan in living room was thick with dust. The freezer hadn't been defrosted for I don't know how long and we couldn't fit anything in there. The selection of cereals consisted of a single serve of Special K and a few single serves of sultana brand, hardly a selection. The radio in the lounge room doesn't work and the gas stove knobs were loose and unsafe. Repair work had been carried out around light switches but was left unpainted/unfinished The general cleanliness that I think should accompany the tariff was not there. If our feelings have upset you, We left feeling we just didn't get what we payed for. Nonetheless we made the most of our surroundings and still managed to have a nice weekend away, just that we wouldn't stay there again at the rates...
Read moreThe owners are friendly and happy to help and accommodate. We have stayed here twice now, the first time was in McClymont cabin, this is the furthest into the property and features an attached man cave area with barbecue and hammock. The second was in a cabin just to the left of the entry. This was slightly smaller but just as well appointed. While the bathroom is getting a little old with a few loose tiles and the loo screamed a little, the room is wonderful and a great escape from busy work life. They provide you with fresh eggs, some are bantam which are the perfect size for the missus, along with a loaf of bread, tea and coffee and biscuits. You also get a choice of spreads in the fridge, fresh milk and cereals. We have yet to find the chook shed, this may be up the hill, but it feels intruding to venture up there where work is being done, might be brave enough next time. The alpacas and llama are great fun and know a sucker when they see one. We love coming here and recommend it to any couples or happy single who would like to relax. Aldi is a close drive if you should need...
