Read moreIf I could pay a premium price to google reviews and give the Verandah house a sixth and seventh star, I would not hesitate. Sweeping views of the rolling scenic rim mountains, immaculately maintained grounds, and a family of staff that make you truely feel at home. As a newly wed couple our senses were already heightened, but as we drove onto the property we had to take a moment to catch our breath. A charming rope swing nestled amongst alluring garden beds peppered with picturesque daisy thickets, and lavender bushes. We thought we had arrived in heaven, then we walked through the lane way towards to rear of the property, and OH. MY. GOD. Heaven ain’t got nothing on this! Greeted by the lovely Judy we were guided around the facilities and shown to our verandah suite. Inside, The design elements were flawless, it was immediately apparent that there was time, warmth and intent in every single tiny detail. The colour palate, inside and out was subtle yet spectacular, the decor elegant yet cosy, and the warmth of the Dress Robes coupled with each cabins own ‘maxiheat’ fireplace, truely extraordinary. As self proclaimed “foodies” we were overjoyed to read “continental breakfast” on the VH website however, Lawrence and Judy should change that to, Gourmet, buffet breakfast. Fresh pressed juices, seasonal fruits, delicious French pastries, barista made coffee, smoked salmon cream cheese bagels, Lawrence on the ‘Matador’ cooking your bacon and eggs to your absolute desired perfection, the list goes on. Our hearts and gratitude go out to Lawrence, every night he builds a hypnotic fire that always burns through till sunrise, and is gentleman enough to get our suites fireplace raging whilst we laze around the fire pit. We recommend you take the time to experience a sunrise in the hot tub on your stay, yes it’s an early morning but as the old adage goes, the early birds get the worm! I could write a book about every little perfect thing about our stay, but I feel I’m heading towards the end of my character count. So finally, Lawrence, Judy, Jess and Jess, thank you all, from the bottom of our newly wedded hearts for making our honeymoon truely, unforgettable. We will absolutely be returning. With gratitude and great-fullness, the...

Our recent stay at Verandah House was nothing short of restorative—a truly grounding experience that provided the space and stillness we needed to relax, rejuvenate, and reset. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this was more than just a place to stay—it was an invitation to reconnect with nature, comfort, and self.
Our room was impeccable—designed with an eye for earthy elegance and thoughtful detail. Every element, from the natural textures to the sophisticated decor, worked in harmony to create a serene and welcoming space. The fireplace offered a warm, cozy touch on cool evenings, while the freestanding bathtub with expansive mountain views felt like something out of a dream. The bed, soft and cloud-like, gave me one of the deepest, most uninterrupted sleeps I can recall in years.
The food offerings were another highlight. The guest kitchen was intuitively set up and easy to navigate, with everything we needed readily available. The coffee was genuinely great—rich and well-balanced. In the evening, soaking in the onsen hot tub beneath a sky full of stars, followed by the deeply relaxing alpine sauna, was nothing short of magical.
Morning brought with it another delight: a beautifully curated breakfast box, filled with local, organic, and nourishing selections. The mix of savoury and sweet treats reflected care and craftsmanship, setting a beautiful tone for the day. After a refreshing dip in the pool, we took our time wandering the pristine, lovingly maintained grounds, soaking up breathtaking mountain views and the gentle presence of native wildlife.
A heartfelt thank you to Judy, Laurence, and the wonderful team at Verandah House for creating such a soulful sanctuary. Every detail was curated with care and intention. We left feeling deeply refreshed and will most...
