Without a doubt, the BEST place we stayed during our Tasmanian driving holiday. We stayed in the Hobbit Cottage and from the moment we stepped inside, it was like being in a story book. The wood fire, the adorable bedroom, the history, the location...
Blackwood Park Cottages and Mole Creek is one of those places that is glorious - surrounded by mountains and trees and idyllic farmland. It was just stunning. We felt so lucky to be heading back each evening to our cosy little Hobbit Cottage, and to play with the owner's dogs, and just to breathe and fully relax in the peaceful location.
I am already planning our next visit and this time will stay for longer. Mole Creek is the perfect base for the Marakoopa Caves, Trowunna Wildlife Sanctuary, a short drive to Deloraine and Devonport, and just the most magnificent views. Added bonus was that the stunning Allum Cliffs lookout was walking distance from our cottage.
Shane and Yuko were amazing - so friendly, made it feel...
Read moreMy wife researched and booked this accomodation, bloody good selection. We we’re treated by Simon and his 2 friendly dogs, received a rundown on the amenities then left alone. A hour later an awesome platter of local cured meats and cheeses . . . And a rundown on the truffles. Very nice. Hahndorf 😘) ||Even with an overcast day the scenery from the porch was fantastic, so much to see, so much to do but sipping wine reading a book suited us just fine. Combustion heater and ample firewood added to the experience.||Anyone who asks, more than happy to recommend this spot.||For those inclined, 4G was available and wifi along with Netflix was easily available (Not sure...
Read moreAbsolutely spectacular. Stayed in the Pioneer Cottage in Feb 2022. Bed is soft and cosy, and the modern amenities of a renovated bathroom and kitchen juxtaposed with rustic floor boards and wooden slat roofing was so cool. Our host was knowledgeable about the location and gave us information about the cottage's history. He also provided us with eggs from his chickens, as well as thick cut bacon, jam, churned butter, bread and apple juice from surrounding farms. So DELICIOUS! Never tasted butter or apple juice that fresh and delicious before.
We had free reign to wander around the property as we pleased, meeting alpacas, ducks, dogs, sheep, chickens and even turkeys along the way. It was so cool to feed the alpacas in the morning!
Mole Creek is all of 5 minutes away, and Alum Falls (a great forest walk) is at the bottom of the street. Truly had an amazing...
