Words don't seem enough to describe how much I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Captains Rest. The communication from the team was fantastic, and the accommodation itself exceeded my expectations! From the moment I turned the key and entered the door I felt as though I had stepped in a luxurious home away from home, somewhat back in time. From the signature crockery to the tucked away library and the thoughtfully selected furnishings, the attention to detail did not go unnoticed. The clever use of space makes Captains Rest feel spacious yet homely and cosy. Sitting by the window watching the weather and sunlight change throughout the day, to night, to morning by the warmth of the fire, reading, drawing and listening to music was beyond a delight. Views from every room, the peaceful sound of the water outside, soaking in the luxurious bathtub, looking through other guests heartfelt notes and drawings, along with the well announced visits from the friendly little ducks (the girls) filled my soul with a sense of peace and joy. We had the most wonderful stay at Captain’s Rest! It was pure bliss and everything was thought of to facilitate a truly peaceful escape to unwind and relax. We loved watching the light and weather moods change out the gorgeous big windows and sat there for a long time each evening and morning just watching. The accompanying playlist is perfect. I also loved the friendly ducks, they are very sweet! We travelled when the bushfires were nearby and the communication and generosity around navigating changing conditions was especially thoughtful. We had the most magical, restful, inspiring and romantic stay at Captain's Rest. I had been dreaming about staying here for years and everything about the experience surpassed my expectations.
