Where do I start?! We went fly fishing in the lake and had the most incredible experience. Richard was an amazing teacher and we all got the hang of it in no time. The scenery is equally amazing and the wildlife is truly awesome. Went for a night time drive and saw so many things; wombats, wallabies, dear and rabbits all within the space of 5 minutes. Merryn was such a great host and very helpful with anything that we needed or wanted to know. Thankyou so much to Richard and Merryn for the amazing experience! 😀

What an amazing place, it's freaking stunning, and everyone we dealt with there was lovely and made the stay even better. Can highly recommend the in-house chef package, one of the best meals I've ever eaten. The fly fishing was really cool, and the ATV tour great fun. We stayed 3 nights but could have easily stayed more. Will be back here for sure.

Probably the best luxury property in Tasmania. Accomodation leaves nothing to be desired and was perfectly prepared by Kendra. She even took the time to put in our favourite coffee machine.😃. Corey was ready with the boat and made our shooting session a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We will definitely be back.

We stayed three nights at Meryn and Richard’s property with a couple of friends. From the time of the booking we were impressed with their “can do” attitude and their desire to make their guests welcome. Fast communication via email and phone and a genuine desire to make their guests welcome.|The property is well in the Tasmanian forest but the road is well maintained and on arrival we were greeted by about 200 wild deer grazing peacefully on an beautifully maintained property. |We were booked in the Lake House set literally on the bank of the middle of the three lakes.....we could fish from the deck😃.|Three luxury bedrooms, two bathrooms, log fire, barbecue , large lounge room with plenty of space, butlers pantry ,a kitchen with everything that you might need and set exactly as you would expect it made us feel immediately at home. Meryn had everything set up to perfection. Even if we wanted to fault it ....we could not. There was even a fire pit set up on the banks of the lake when we arrived....with chairs already in the perfect position 😃👍. Inside....fur rugs on lounges and armchairs, quality linen, books, DVDs,magazines.....|The three lakes have good stocks of trout. The top and middle one have a good population of wild browns combined with stocked rainbows and the bottom one is browns only. Most of the fish we caught (good sizes) were browns with a few rainbows on the second day. Richard can arrange professional guiding or you can fish by yourself.|We also had a session on the shooting range which is very well set up. Richard run the session and made a lot of fun for everyone. Our friends never shot a firearm before and now they want to get their gun licence😂. He even offered us a whiskey at the end of the session 👍.|If you do not want to fish or shoot there are many walking tracks, all with spectacular views and the wildlife is abundant. |We are experienced travellers (about 3 months/year at wilderness lodges from Alaska to NZ and Argentina for the last 20 years )and we could not fault Meryn and Richard’s property......even if we wanted to. The only suggestion for improvement that I offered to Meryn was a swimming jetty on one of the lakes.....for the hot days.....lol.Thoroughly...

I am still on a high from our experience at Currawong Lakes. We booked it in for my dad's surprise 60th birthday (7 adults and 5 children aged 2 - 6). I genuinely couldn't fault our experience. My only regret is we didn't stay longer!!

We booked the Lake House and Hunter Lodge, both are styled to perfection and feel like you walk into someones country home. The lake house is a masterpiece!!! Fur throws on the beds, huge warm fireplace, one of the most amazing kitchens you could ever ask and that terrace that sits over the lake, there are windows with the most amazing out look from everywhere. I could keep going on how beautiful this house is.

Now onto all the other amazingness!! Meryn and Richard and their beautiful dog Birdie make Currawong Lakes just perfection. Their no problem attitude really make the process so easy. They are there to help when you need but also are never in your space when you want alone type, really the perfect hosts. Planning this birthday felt like a mammoth task but once I booked Currawong Lakes Meryn & Richard just jumped in and assisted with it all. From planning the birthday dinner to itinerary ideas that would suit the entire family and make all happy to beautiful breakfasts. We also booked in some fly fishing and clay shooting for a few of the adults which was so well run by Richard, who is extremely patient in showing you the correct way to catch the trout (we had 2 successful catches!!). If you dont want to fish or shoot absolutely no problem, there are amazing tracks to walk thorough and gorgeous deer roaming the fields, if you are lucky you may find a wombat too!!. There are also a great selections of books, DVD's or the great option of doing nothing and just relaxing!!!

I could keep going on about how amazing this but I think its better you just book and get there yourself, you will not regret it!! No picture can show you how beautiful this place is!! You will not regret it, I promise!!!!

Thank you so much Meryn & Richard for your warm hospitality. I couldn't of asked for our time to have gone...

Just lovely to switch off relax surrounded by dear wombats roaming. My husband absolutely loved the fly fishing, catching brown and rainbow trout - catch releasing enhanced by the generous owner, who was kind and knowledgeable re fishing. ||||It was so lovely to watch the dear wombats roaming. My husband absolutely loved the fly fishing, catching brown and rainbow trout enhanced by the generous owner, who was kind and knowledgeable re fishing. ||||Small negative was before and on arrival in the car park, after a very long tiring journey we were given a talk re the history of the property and how it was developed. ||Would have preferred this at later time or maybe documented in our accomodation to read at leisure. ||||Tip no food, wifi, or phone signal available at this property so pack all supplies including basics ie milk. Once in the cabin you have no way of contacting the owners in emergency, other than driving to their house. Ensure you choose a cabin to your fitness levels as some are a long and steep walk away from lakes and only suitable for the fit. ||||The property is 12 kms down an unmade road so watch out for signage and phone ahead for driving instructions. Do not attempt in dark. Again worth noting no signal if you get lost unless maybe Telstra.||||The owners were very helpful and checked on us to ensure we had everything and a lovely stay thank you both very much. ||||||||||||||hich could have instead just been recorded in the cabin to read later. ||||Tip no food, wifi, or phone signal available at this property so pack all supplies including basics ie milk.
