Mountain Blue Guest Accommodation — Hotel in Tasmania

I stayed with my partner for a wonderful week here. What a great holiday, I had an enchanting time that left me feeling WOW! Our Hosts, Maria and Brent run the Mountain Blue Blueberry farm next door, so if you come at Blueberry Harvest time it’s an added bonus.

The house is a new, super comfortable and well insulated country home and is suitable for any kind of weather. It’s located on a rural property, about a 15-20 minute drive from the picturesque town of Deloraine in the central north of Tasmania. Deloraine has a great range of eateries, gift shops, old pubs and coffee places plus a large Woolworth’s supermarket where you can buy your food up till 9pm, 7 days a week.

Crystal clear drinking water from a nearby spring feeds down to the house and the unlimited hot water pressure in the spacious, marble shower attached to our room was to die for.

At night from the front veranda, you can shine the torch on a huge range of wallabies and other Australian native animals that hop around the spacious outdoor garden while up above, the stars make a beautiful sight in the clear Tasmanian skies.

The house is around a one hour twenty-minute drive from Launceston Airport via the 110kph Bass Highway. The road from Deloraine to Golden Valley is very good tar too, so you don’t need a 4-wheel drive. Deloraine seems to be the centre of all roads going to the many tourist attractions in Northern Tasmania so this area is an absolutely ideal location to base yourself.

Stayed at this guest house for 7 nights in March 2018 and quite frankly I’ve never had such a relaxing and satisfying holiday in my whole life. The Hosts, Maria and Brent spared no effort to make us comfortable and show us how everything worked. It is an almost new, large house with a huge living space and kitchen, 3 bedrooms with Queen sized beds and 2 bathrooms/toilets. We occupied the main bedroom and it was luxury for us. Considering it is on a beautiful rural property, 15 kms from the small town of Deloraine, there is everything you could want. The kitchen has a huge Smeg gas stove which cooks everything marvellously, plus a microwave, dishwasher, toaster and full fridge.

The lounge has a wonderful pot-bellied stove that heats the house and there are individual electric wall heaters in each bedroom. The double glazed windows and doors also keep the heat in and the noise out. It’s only a short drive from there to the delightful old town of Deloraine and then on to the various attractions of Northern Tasmania, within a couple of hour’s drive – eg. Dove Lake and Cradle Mountain, Liffey Falls, Sheffield the town of Murals, Westbury Maze and the magnificent Mole Creek caves.

If you want a holiday to remember, I strongly recommend this place. I’d say it would be second to none in Tasmania. Thanks again...

They were on the look out for us and we nearly past the place if they did not flash a light to signal us that we have reached the place.
