We stayed here for four nights and wished it had been for longer!|Our one bedder was very cute and the breakfast tray of goodies was delicious. Expect eggs, bread, jam, butter and a couple of types of cereal and milk. The cottages are nicely spaced out so you have a nice feeling of seclusion. Its an easy stroll down to the beach and my husband was out fishing in the mornings. |The cottage is spacious and well furnished with books, magazines and videos for a big night in. The kitchen is well kitted out for cooking with a few condiments as well. |A sneaky peak in to the visitors book shows a large number of repeat visitors and alot of locals which is a huge endorsement. |The cottages are about a 10 minute drive in Bicheno which has a small IGA if you want to self cater although the options aren't great. Its also home to the Lobster shack which is not to be missed. |This place is perfect if you want to breathe in sea air, walk along the beach and have peace and quiet. |We look forward...
Read moreA recent weekend found us staying at the 'Sandpiper' - one of the cottages under the Sandpiper Cottages group of accommodation places. It is not a stretch by any imagination to say that this little cottage, and the facilities offered by the owners is outstanding! My wife and I have stayed at many smaller cabin or cottage style places around Tassie and this one is up there in our top two. Comfortable, fully equipped, perfect location, nothing's a bother, welcoming hamper, great fireplace, extremely comfy bed, library of books and dvds, Foxtel etc., etc., etc., - the list goes on and on. It feels like you've turned up at a relative's house for a weekend. And to top it all off, you have 12klms of Denison Beach right on your doorstep. No road noise, just the waves pleasantly crashing on the shore. Super pet-friendly to boot. You WILL NOT be disappointed with anything at Sandpiper. We're already checking dates for...
Read moreAbsolutely wonderful. Reasonably priced, friendly, helpful staff, great environment, very comfortable rooms, excellent facilities. The hand carved and painted statues of celebrities were a nice touch and we liked the fact that food scraps went to the on-site chickens. The ability to have a fire going on the cold nights was great and the Welcome Breakfast Basket was excellent. We liked the fact that the tea and coffee were of good quality while there was a great selection of good spreads for your toast. A litre of real milk and a fresh bread loaf were also provided. The "mini-bar" featured a variety of local wines, beers & soft drinks at very reasonable prices. But what drew us to this place was the fact that (well behaved) pet dogs were welcome to be onsite and inside as required. Our beloved pet also enjoyed a run on the beach which was at the foot of the property. If we are in the area again we will...
