This isn’t the review I wanted to leave but it’s honest and truthful. Our wedding day was beautiful. It was amazing. The grounds are stunning. The lead up to the wedding was not ideal. Communication issues and unprofessional behaviour. We had to get the owner involved. The only stress I had about my wedding was some of Brookleigh staff. The second biggest purchase of my life and I was made to feel that I was not good enough or valued enough as a client. I honestly thought that I would be treated with kindness and professionalism. At each bump in the road which of course happens in weddings, instead of solutions I was given demands. I asked if I could use bell tents and was told yes. I booked them and later was told I couldn’t cause I wanted guests to be able to sleep in them. I booked our wedding rehearsal over two months in advance and last minute was told I had to change it- which was difficult to rearrange with the schedules of bridal party, celebrant, photographer and videographer with 3 weeks til the wedding. No apologies or asking, just simply told. On top of this my sister and I stayed the night before and had no hot water in the house for a shower. Repeated phone calls and in the end we didn’t have a shower. In the morning the water was better but Luke warm. I had goosebumps and ended up going to the gate house for a hot shower. Some of the electronics in the house aren’t great either. We couldn’t turn the light off in the toilet and a horrible sound was coming from the exhaust fan. The night of my wedding there was a problem with the shower door and I couldn’t get out. Brookleigh has great reviews which is one of the reasons we chose this location. I only wish I had had the great experience...
Read moreSuch a lovely stay and almost perfect. We were the only people on the entire estate and it was peaceful and quiet, the lady told us we were the only ones staying that day. (This was back in January) We got massages & facials - during our service, all I could hear was kids screaming in the pool and being very loud. The massages & facials were INCREDIBLE, the people who did our 2 hour service were just so kind - very very good at what they do. I’ve had massages at many places and never in my life has the feeling been so incredible than at Brookleigh Estate. The only thing that was disappointing was the kids at the pool being loud during our services to where we could both hear from our room for nearly an hour straight. Our 2 other friends couldn’t relax at the pool after their service because of the noise.
Other than that, this place is beautiful and I was interested in it for my wedding. Good location, beautiful accommodation and cute animals. Such a lovely morning walk around the Estate and friendly staff. I’d love to go again one day and give the relaxation by the pool another shot, it was a beautiful day and I’m sure if it was the children who lived there that were being a bit noisy, they were just...
Read moreDue to being diagnosed and treated for cancer, I had requested Brookleigh to cancel the wedding date set for late November 2026 and provide a refund. I was informed that no refunds are possible, regardless of the reason. I’ve had to take the matter further but if you’re making a booking, please ensure you’re aware of this practice from Jacqui Canny and her team.
Response to the reply from Brookleigh:
All email correspondence was not received due to the automated payment program utilised by Brookleigh being blocked by spam filters. No representative phoned myself or my fiancé to raise any issues with the auto-payment. I have audited the call logs and voicemails and no messages have been left with either of us. We have provided 16 months notice of the requirement for the cancellation.
The ACCC has been notified due to the non-compliance of the terms and conditions document with the Australian Consumer Law and a Form 7 will be lodged shortly through the eCourts system for the matter to progress to the...
