Wow, the landscape of this place is truly out of this world… make your you get out here to see it if you get the chance, HOWEVER, unless you have a 4wd you might not make it all the way.. No doubt these extremely sandy road conditions probably change throughout the year and maybe your mate did get down here in a van once, but we made the trek out along 35kms of sand, to be only 1km from the actual carpark of James Price and couldn’t go any further. Mind you we were in a 4.5 tonne Toyota coaster, maybe something smaller and lighter (non 4wd) would have made it but just have the consideration before going all the way out that there is a chance you won’t make it.

It's a 35km dirtroad going to James Price Point. The road is sandy and corrigated, only at the last 2km is the sand quite deep but no issues there with high clearance. Some parts are smooth and some parts were very corrigated, it changes throughout the year. We reduced our tire pressure to 27psi, don't know if that is the best as we're only beginners in 4wd. But it worked well for us. We only stayed one night because we were going crazy because of the flies during the day and the mozzies during the night. Besides that the place is amazing and one of the most beautiful free campsites I have done in WA!

Great place to take the 4wd down and off road. Amazing beaches and red dirt cliffs is just so captivating. Had a beach to ourselves all day with some shade under one of the rocks. A great experience for families and couples or even if you just want to have some peace and serenity with amazing views. Not too far out of town, would recommend 4wd or minimum SUV as the road can be rough.
