Thank you for making us welcome. Regrettably in our opinion, The Moroccan does not meet expectations at your price point.||In our opinion, the driveway and the approaches to the door need work to make it less sloppy in wet weather. ||The outdoor spa bath is not well positioned - it is down a little stony weedy pathway, in a potentially windy location, on some tired decking which has gaps. ||There is minimal and worn outdoor furniture for the guests, situated under a worn gazebo, served by stepping stones that are 2 steps apart! ||Indoors is quite dark, with a high table and 2 stools, and a low couch - no table and chairs, no armchairs, and no view through the modest windows.||The bed had an odour, and the ‘flannel’ sheets would not be my choice. ||The fly wire door is significantly damaged & would not be fly proof.||The outdoor doormat was very & soggy tired - and the Moroccan needs an indoor door mat for rainy days.||The use of power boards mounted on walls seems excessive v professionally installed fittings, the lack of power points at the bedside & at the high ‘dining’ table for chargers is disappointing. The globes above the bed are very dim, there is nil lighting in the storage alcove behind the front door, & there were insufficient coat hangers for us.||The Wifi is good, but the modern Starlink connection is contrary to the aged instructions displayed. ||Ancient boot-legged DVDs, & vinyl LPs with no turntable that I could see, and some cracked crockery were disappointing.||The district has many attractions, perhaps the other 3 ‘villas’ are superior, but we were disappointed.||As experienced hospitality hosts, I hope that you consider our feedback constructively. A lot of simple fixes could make a...
Read moreThe room itself was very nicely decorated with a lovely en suite. We had two sweet dogs sat at doorstep on the first morning wanting to play. ||||However, being 20 minutes from town a food and drink hamper would have been nice on arrival after a 3 hour drive. 4 individual pots of UHT milk, tea bags and 4 coffee pods was not at all welcoming. It was the first place we stayed that didn't offer water in the fridge. There's a kitchenette but no oven, a microwave, plug in single hob and a slow cooker. An iron would have been useful. The property is trying it seems to be both luxury and eco friendly however it doesn't delivery on either in our opinion. Although the dogs that welcomed us were very friendly if you are afraid of dogs its would have been unnerving to have a dog outside your door wanting to play. Also one of them had done a poo by our car and it wasn't removed. There were some AA battery operated lights under the kitchen units which when activated kept falling off - not very eco friendly either! The kitchen clock didn't work. Our room didn't have windows that could be opened and there was a door in the kitchen area which a photo suggested led to the outside but it was locked. Finally the pillow cover was really unkind to the skin - a kind of polyester sateen I think. A great area to explore with the tramway into the forest and the bicentennial tree on your doorstep but much could be improved at Mudstones. Do hope that things will improve because there is...
Read moreI absolutely loved my little zen stay here at the Mudstone Suites!||||Upon arrival, I was greeted by one of the super chill, super lovely staff members (and the two adorable doggies), who gave me a quick run down and then left me to it for the whole weekend.||||I came down south for a weekend for a mini work retreat. I wanted to go somewhere super relaxing, lush, somewhere with no distractions and knuckle down into some work. I booked this place on a whim and felt I struck gold!||||Some super sweet little touches in the amazing, spacious room which is filled with every amenity that I wanted/needed. Made me feel special and that the staff really want you to enjoy your time there.||||Bed was super comfy, the view of the national forest outside the window was beautiful, and a bonus for me was the two property dogs who filled my void of dog affection while being away from my own pooch.||||Tucked away right amongst the beautiful tall green trees, waking up to the birds chirping in the morning, just pure bliss. My only complaint is that I wish I could have stayed a few more nights to take in all the zen.||||Have had many people ask about this place after seeing me post about it, have been recommending it to everyone. Will definitely be back...
