Beachfront Zilzie Holiday Homes — Hotel in Zilzie

What a fantastic holiday! My son is well travelled for a 9 year old but I have to say this was one of his favourite holidays, such a nice surprise! He spent the evenings at sunset walking the beach looking for crabs (I could watch from the deck with a drink if I wasn’t joining him) the tide went right out and our conversation flowed deep as he cartwheeled around me. Those sunsets! I found we’d hurry back to the cottage just to watch. ||||After a quick coffee at Emu Park and a drive thru the lush green landscape or the winding ocean road we often headed to Yeppoon. To my sons delight there was a brand new infinity pool lagoon, with an island (also baby friendly for his little brother) and a new skatepark & playground next door. Just up the road was another free water feature park for kids on the esplanade which was out of this world FUN! We found a fantastic seafood cafe, juice shop, and ice cream parlour everything a dreamy family beach vacation needs. ||It was only a short drive to the harbour where we caught the fast cat to Great Kepple Island - we chose to briefly explore the island and had a quick dip in the crystal clear water. The boat was great - we had a fantastic traditional Australian BBQ, tried boom netting, went snorkelling around the reef and on the glass bottom boat (great for toddlers!) my son was so happy to be able to help feed the large reef fish. Well worth spending the extra for a very memorable experience!||We packed a picnic and spent another free day out at Stony Creek a natural wonder wishing the state forest again the kids just loved swimming with the turtles.||||I can’t wait to get back my only regret was we didn’t stay longer! I hope to see the caves and perhaps catch a rodeo next time we are in Rocky! 5 star review from...

Look it's a nice view a nice-ish house but there are a few problems I think need to be brought to attention. Although the house is advertised with internet - which it definitely does - it is far from useable, my family had to use our cellular data because the internet could not even handle a simple Google search. I would also like to say the shower is quite horrendous. Inside feels cramped and I couldn't even fit my head under the non-adjustable shower head -  I'm 6'2. The spray of the head missed my body as right in the middle seems to be a hole or something (because nothing comes out - and i know this sounds petty but it can be very annoying) The outdoor shower was fun and I hadn't any problems. Another small problem but one of the bedrooms closest to the upstairs half bath doesn't shut. This can be annoying when you want a good night sleep and the door continues to open. One thing i found good was the cleanliness, everything had obviously been thoroughly cleaned when we got there. Monopoly was also fun. Overall a nice house just one major and 2 minor...

Perfect place to enjoy a few days R&R this great little cottage has everything you need for a relaxing time and with Emu park and Yepoon a short drive away no need to worry about supplies, everything is available locally. Will definitely recommend this cottage which was dog friendly too. May 2022 and we have returned to our favourite little cottage at Zilzie for a few days of R&R .
