Smiths' Mill Campground — Hotel in Zumsteins

I had one of the best camping experiences in Australia here and also really enjoyed the fact that this was a recommendation from somebody from Parks Victoria. Unfortunately, the park has experienced some wildfires that have made part of the park on accessible and so it was nice to get some help over the phone about this and happy that we came to the site and while I won’t give out the Best number for the campground, I am pleased to report that there was a lot of awesome wildlife and respectful neighbors around and the park was clean and everything was really close and conveniently placed not too far away so when we had something to pick up during the time there, we could just drive And pick stuff up and come back relatively easy. Arrived 13th April 2025 for 4 nights just before the Easter long weekend. Busy here, nice spot with caravan, mind a few holes in gravel road on the way in. Toilets long drops clean but surprised only one set of toilets of 3 and one bush shower and only 1 non portable tap creek water and rainwater tank for the whole Campground, plantation Campground has less sites and has two sets of everything as well as more non portable taps around the Campground. This campground is also next to creek with plenty of running water. This is a great campground to stay at as is centrL to majority of lookouts and walks. There are toilets and when working a shower but relies on you to fill bucket as manual shower not mains. There is also a bit of wildlife such as a friendly Emu or two and kangaroos and a variety of other bird species. You are next to river and during summer is good for a dip. This area can be peacefull except for a few who think they can party through out the night and do not consider others but majority of time great.
