Haus Petra — Hotel in Bach

Haus Petra is simply beautiful. The apartment we stayed in was very spacious (2 separate bedrooms, living room with kitchen and 2 bathrooms (1 with shower, 1 with bath, both with toilet) and a large balcony. ||Everything you would want is present in the room. Very authentic and cosy with a nice view on the surrounding mountains.||We booked breakfast and never regretted this! The breakfast is fairly simple but in all means delicious!!! Petra (the lady of the house) always tries to bring some variety: bakes the bread herself every day, provides a range of local cheeses and meats, can foresee fresh eggs from the "house owned chickens", has a fresh juice or smoothie ready every day, ... . She also takes into account any special requests (allergy, intolerance, ...). She has experience with vegetarian and vegan so no problem in that area.||Her husband, Max, is a "Schnitzer". He can provide courses and information. He also helps out in the house in any way he can. When our car broke down on the day we were to leave, he regularly had contact with the garage, drove me there and back, even offered my wife and me to use his car when we had to stay another night (which was no problem at all).||Our dog, a seriously grown but very playful labrador, was very welcome. There are many acres of fields just opposite from the house to take walks and many mountain hikes well suited for walks with the dog. We went for holiday to Haus Petra between Christmas and new year. When we arrived we had a warm welcome. Even when my German language was not that great, she talked to me in good English. Tha location of the building is located in the valley of two mountains. So the view is magnificent! "Stockach", the little village close to "Bach" is centrally located between the two bigger villages "Reutte" and "lech", it's around 30 minutes driving with car. Talking about cars, Haus Petra has a big parking for around 6 cars.

The service was also really great! Whe had a good breakfast, it was even to much but tasted really well. Even when there was any problem or when had a question, we could ask it and she helped us out. So also 5 stars for service!

Our room was beautiful, and you could see that a lot of parts of the room were hand made by the husband. it gave the whole room a personal touch. Also we had a kitchen in our room. Ik was not that big, but big enough for my wife, baby and me. Everything we had needed to make dinner was there. Even a washing machine! The bathroom was modern with a touch of Tirol, and was big enough for us. One little thing what doesn't bother us but maybe other guests: the wooden floor makes a little bit of noise, but that is normal for wooden house's. When you don't like wooden floors, you could better stay out of Austria 😉
