I booked it as it got very high score without checking closely its location thinking that bad ischl is a small town and every where should be close by. But the night prior to check in I found out there’s no nearby bus stop to the hotel and the walk is 30min from the station! In the end I had to rent a car because we didn’t want to walk 30min every time we go out. But on our way there I found there was a bus stop right next to the hotel. By doing some research I found out there’s a bus from the hotel to the bahnhof every hour from 6am to 6pm but the bus is only mon to Friday. So be mindful of this is you are not driving. We met a few guests in the common area and apparently they didn’t drive and they were managing it ok.
Except for that as a self-drive guest I really liked the location of it. Very quiet right next to the bush. Can hear water streaming down from the mountain. Hotel was also well equipped and the balcony offers a relaxing view. Clean and tidy. Self check in uncomplicated. Would love to come back and stay again
They also got via Ferrara and indoor climbing facilities free of charge to the hotel guests. But one must bring their gears as...
Read moreIf you are looking for the accommodation in Bad Ischl as a tourist / mountaineer, THIS is a place to be. Right at the base station of the Katrin cable car. Also great location to explore the general area (Attersee, Traunsee, St. Wolfgang, Hallstatt). We were a group of 6 climbers, which itself was quite challenging to find an accomodation where we wouldn't be separated. Then finally we found this GEM and reserved the two floor 'Wildenstein' appartment. Rooms and the bathroom on the groundfloor, and the living room with the kitchen and the balcony upstairs. Boy, was it comfortable!! We had tons of fun together, but very important - beds was insanely comfy!! After long days climbing we looked forward to crash-land in the sheets everytime! Also all other amenities were modern, kitchen well equipped. We had the best time here! 🙂 Next time we're coming back with our kids! PS: Almost forgot! The self check-in is intuitive and fast! PSS: There is also a climbing hall and fixed rope course on the hotel, but we simply didn't managed to check it...
Read moreCame here for one night stay. The accommodation was a good price. Parking was free and easy. Room was modern, fresh, clean. The bed was super soft. Technically two beds pushed together with seperate duvets. Bathroom smelled a bit musty but looked very clean. Shower had a great pressure. It just has one thing as shampoo and body wash though, and no conditioner or actual soap. Check out was 10am and there’s no way to ask for a late one with the robot reception. Wish we got a discount to the chair lift for staying here, so tempting to be so close but it’s...
