Arlberg Chalets — Hotel in Gemeinde Dalaas

My family of 2 adults and 4 children stayed in the 3 bedroom Chalet Rüfikopf. It was modern, clean and well-kept, and the other chalets in the development looked similarly well-kept. This is a development on the road which goes directly to the ski slopes, so very convenient. It is not directly on the ski slopes, so you will need to drive or take the shuttle bus (bus station about 3' walk away) - it is a 5' drive to Sonnenpiste and a 15'-20' drive to the other bigger ski areas. If you are a competent skier, you can park at the Flexenbahn carpark in the St Christoph area and then ski across the whole Arlberg area from there. Regardless, the drive to there or further to St Anton or Lechs is also easy - roads are not particularly windy or curved and are in good condition, so those with carsickness needn't worry as much. Car parking is plentiful at Arlberg Chalets, both underground and outdoor.|The development is split between chalets and apartments (most for holiday rentals, but a few reserved for private usage), and the development is car-free. My kids were particularly excited by the usage of a golf buggy to transport our luggage (and them) up the hill to the chalet.|There is a restaurant on site but for the week I was there, I didn't notice it open. There is also a bread service at reception which you pre-submit orders for the afternoon before. Important to note that payment is also accepted in cash.|Chalet Rüfikopf had a washing machine, 3 bedrooms (2 double upstairs and 1 smaller one with a bunk bed on the ground floor). There are bathrooms on each of the 3 floors, with the basement also including a TV room and washing machine. Ground floor is a living and dining room and a small kitchen. There is a combi oven-microwave, stove, and a fridge/freezer in the dining room. What I loved was the electric bbq grill on the patio, you could chuck your meat or veg onto the grill and duck back into the house to keep warm, until it was time to check on the food.|What was most superior though for Arlberg Chalets was the service of the management and reception. I had some strange unexplained electrics issues - the electricity cut off on the first evening (and several times at various points over the stay). I found it happened when I used the oven or toaster in the kitchen which tripped the circuits. Management couldn't find the issue, but luckily, each time the electricity went off, it came back after some time. Worst was the first evening but Britta jumped in and offered to arrange a dinner at Klostertaler Hof - amazing food and service, well recommended! Wir als Dreiköpfige Familie mit Hund waren beim buchen der Appartements hellauf begeistert. Sie versprachen schöne Aussicht, Top ausgestattete Küche, viele Unternehmensmöglichkeiten, Spielplatz in der Nähe, ideal für Familie mit Hund.. dachten wir.

Als erstes bekamen wir beim Check-In ein Blatt vorgelegt, welches wir unterschreiben mussten. Es ging um unseren Hund. Alles logische Sachen wie: Wir dürfen den Hund nicht auf Sofa und Bett lassen (logisch für uns), für Schäden jeglicher Art haften wir (ist ja klar), aber eines machte uns etwas schlechte Laune.. wir dürfen den Hund nicht alleine im Appartement lassen.. wir dürfen also keine Aktivitäten ohne unseren Hund unternehmen. Das stand nirgends auf der Webseite oder wurde auch bei der Anmeldung des Hundes (dies muss separat per Mail gemeldet werden) nicht erwähnt. Die nette Rezeptionistin, hat aber gesagt, wo kein Kläger, da auch kein Richter, also durften wir es uns auch erlauben, da unser Hund kein "Beller" ist und gut alleine sein kann.

Das Appartment: (Frosch Alfenz Hütte) Es war richtig schön. Heimelig, modern und die Küche gut ausgestattet. Was uns fehlte waren Storen oder Läden. Die Nachtvorhänge brachten nicht viel und unsere Tochter (15 Monate) schlief wirklich nicht gut, es war unheimlich hell im Zimmer und die Heizung war aufgedreht, wir hatten permanent 25° in der Wohnung. Wir meldeten es und der Hausmeister kam um dies zu regeln - hat aber nichts gebracht. Das Appartment war direkt an der Hauptstrasse, welche leider in dieser Zeit auch unheimlich stark befahren war und verursachte bis spät in den Abend, einen rechten lärm.

Zur falschen Zeit am falschen Ort: Wir kehrten für 7 Nächte ein: 29.05. - 05.06. Leider war rundum alles zu (Ferienzeit). Dies stand aber in keinster Weise irgendwo auf der Webseite. Wir wissen, dass wir uns selber an der Nase nehmen müssen, denn wir hätten uns besser vorbereiten und selber auf allen Bergbahnen und Angeboten nachlesen sollen, ob Sie wirklich geöffnet haben. Wir dachten nur, wenn es auf der Seite steht - "Sommer ist die Bergbahn Sonnenkopf ein toller Ausflug für Familien" dann sei die Bahn auch offen. Naja Fehlanzeige. In Lech (30 min Autofahrt) war auch Ferienzeit und alles zu. Muttersberg, war unsere Rettung und wir verbrachten einen tollen Tag da. (Nähe Bludenz, auch ca. 30 min. Fahrtzeit).

Der Pool: Eine tolle Sache und direkt unter unserem Appartment, aber ehrlich.. der Pool war eher kühl. Für uns nicht so ein Problem, aber für Kleinkinder definitiv zu kalt.

Aussenbereich: Schöne Chalets aneinandergereiht mit ein wenig grün dazwischen. Kein Spielplatz - wie angenommen in der Nähe. Das Gelände ist komplett für sich, keine Wege führten irgendwo ins Grüne, mit dem Hund nicht so toll - wollten ja auch nicht das unser Hund direkt vor einem Chalet sein Geschäft verrichten muss. Direkt auf der anderen Strassenseite konnte man einen richtig hübschen "Wichtelweg" laufen welcher zu einer süssen Grillstelle mit Kneippanlage führte. Das war aber auch das einzige. Ansonsten lief man der Strasse entlang.

Résumé: Für Wanderer oder Biker und im Winter auch für Skifahrer, bestimmt eine gute Wahl. Für Familie mit Hund und vorallem um diese Zeit - ist es für unser Geschmack ein totaler reinfall. Die Angestellten sind alle enorm freundlich, und der Brötchenservice lieben hier glaube ich alle, wirklich toll. Aber die Geschäftsführerin könnte von den Angestellten eine Scheibe abschneiden, so etwas unfreundliches haben wir noch selten erlebt. Wir haben unsere Ferien 4 Tage früher abgebrochen und haben mit Kulanz noch 50 EUR...

Newly build apartments and chalets, all in a rustic, modern, yet still typically Austrian style. My apartment was a two bedroom unit with space for five, not counting the obligatory sofa bed in the living room. We also had access to a spacious terrace. The kitchen was fully stocked with appliances and basic cleaning products.

There is a private parking space in the basement.

There is a swimsuit optional wellness area with a swimsuit required pool on the ground floor.

The pool has plenty of relaxation spaces and is equipped with an infinity jet, jet streams and a little bubble bath corner. All of those can be manually activated for a burst of time.

The wellness area has a common room with about ten relaxation beds, a steam bath (40°C) and two sauna units (50°C and 90°C). There is a little outdoor area to cool down after the sauna and a quiet room with another six relaxation beds.

For groceries the nearby Dalaas has a Spar supermarket as does the other neighboring town of Klösterle.

The people we met were all friendly and helpful. For tourist information I suggest you go straight to Klösterle since that office is open more than the little...
