Krainerhutte||||Baden||||Horrible stay||||849826042||||No. No. No. You do NOT want to stay here. This is my first review EVER. My first night here REQUIRES one. My husband and I booked a 4 nights stay in this miserable hotel for our 1st trip to Austria.||Day 1 (Thursday): The location outside of the city is great. The accommodations and surroundings are wonderful but it all means NOTHING if you can't sleep!!! The entire hotel has no AC, which is fine for the winter, but Austria has very warm summers. This is nothing new so it makes no sense that we were dying in a 35 degree (C) room because it lacks AC. I've never stayed in a hotel that lacked AC, not even Alaska. We were given a small fan that simply could not have possibly cooled the room, but did manage to move the hot, thick, stale air around a bit. For the few moments that we did manage to dose off, we were awaken by the extremely loud group located on the lawn, outside the bar, just below us; loud laughing, cursing, LOUD group sing-alongs... I always travel with ear plugs because I realize that it would be quite unreasonable to expect complete quiet anywhere. Still, my earplugs and the white noise of the fan could do very little to mitigate the disruption. When I called the front desk to complain (almost 1AM) I learned that the night reception folk speak no English. That required me to get up, get dressed and go all the way down to reception, after typing my complaint into a language translator on my phone to show to the person at the front desk. Approximately over an hour later (almost 0300), the noise quited a bit and we were able to sleep.||Day 2 (Friday): As we left to spend our 1st day in town, we told the front desk that the "do not disturb" button on our door appeared to not work and that we requested no one enter our room. We were told by someone at the desk that they would be sure to let the cleaning staff know. We returned to find that our room had been entered, cleaned and bottles we were saving to refill had been removed. Also, the cleaning staff had left us with only one towel. When we returned to the hotel that evening, passing by the front desk, the same gentleman who checked us in stopped us and told us he learned of the previous night's noise disturbance and appologized. He went on to tell us that the hotel typically holds events that might be a bit noisy in a separate area of the hotel, but that the previous loud guest that were below our room were participants in a conference that ended and they were celebrating a bit louder than the hotel anticipated. He ended by telling me that a wedding was scheduled for Saturday, but we should be uninterrupted because the entire wedding and reception would take place away from our room.||Day 3 (Saturday): While at breakfast (a buffet) we noticed 2 or 3 of the guest bringing their dog to the restaurant (something we've become accustomed to). What shocked and disgusted us was when we witnessed someone, who appeared to be a supervisor (based upon what appeared to be her telling others what to do and them complying) bringing her small dog in her arm, placing it on an area where napkins were and allowing the dog to follow her in and out of the kitchen at least 2 to 3 times as she was assisting in breaking down the morning buffet and clearing tables. She arrived shortly after we had been told to get any other items we wanted because the buffet would be closing at 1000. There was only us and 2 other tables with guest when the person with the dog arrived. She only stayed a short while before coming out of the kitchen a final time with the small dog in a bag that hung off her shoulder and resulted in the dog hanging at roughly the same height as the tops of the buffet counters (GROSS!!!). It was then my husband and I determined that we would no longer eat anywhere in the hotel and made plans to eat elsewhere that evening. That evening, despite assurances we received, a group of guests from the wedding congregated under a gazebo just below our window, a short distance in front of the bar and engaged in a drinking sing-along. I didn't bother complaining, realising that it wouldn't do any good.||Check out: Upon check out Monday morning with the person at the front desk, they listed all of the charges to our room, but never once asked about our stay. I told them that it was odd to me that they didn't ask how our stay was and asked if they’d like to know about our experience at Krainerhutte. They welcomed my comments. After running down the details of what I described above, I asked how much our room would've been without the issues I described (most importantly the noise that was allowed to continue) because my expectation was that since the hotel website did not specify a different price based upon disruptions they allowed, I thought I'd be paying for a quiet room. The person explained that they were sorry about our experience, but the hotel is an event hotel that hosts events. I countered that I have stayed in plenty of event hotels and convention centers that hosted weddings and large events. Those establishments do not house their dining/drinking and event facilities near lodging ANNNNND those places use security personnel to keep the party guest from disturbing the others. I again pointed out that the hotel website mentions NOTHING about guest needing to have the expectation that they will not be able to sleep because they are an event hotel or that we would have to pay extra for peace and quiet. The person again began to say, "I'm sorry, but..." I interrupted, informing them that the "but" they kept placing at the end of their, "I'm sorry" erased everything they said before it. I also informed them that their coworker had previously apologised for the noise WITHOUT placing a "but" behind it as they kept doing. I then asked for the rate the hotel charges for rooms where the guest are interrupted/prevented from sleeping TWICE during their stay because I wanted to pay THAT price. The person informed me that they were not in a position to make any accommodation for our trouble, but that the supervisor should arrive in 20 minutes. We had to leave for our flight. So I informed them that my review would be honest and it is. I am an American, employed in Europe with over 5900 others from all parts of the world. We are all part of a social media group where we share experiences and recommendations for travel. I am sure, based upon the handling of my complaint that Krainerhutte management truly could NOT care any less than their front desk person did about my dissatisfaction with my hotel experience there, but it gives me pleasure knowing that I will be able to steer my coworkers and associates FAR AWAY from Krainerhutte. Some advise to management... Do NOT argue with paying customers; not ever. If the person receiving a customer complaint appologizes, without a "but" behind it and continues to ONLY apologise, the complaining customer has to stop complaining or look ridiculous because only a fool will argue with someone is agreeing with them.||DONT STAY HERE....
Read moreThis hotel truly took our breath away. This place is heaven, and for dog owners, it's a paradise. We arrived with some skepticism due to recent reviews we had read on Google, but all our doubts were dispelled. Our stay at this hotel was an amazing experience from start to finish, and we wouldn't change a thing. We only regretted that we stayed for just one day, but we will definitely return for a longer visit in the future.
Starting with the fact that this place is great for dogs. Dogs are warmly welcomed, pampered, and spoiled here. They can go practically anywhere with you, except for the spa area. In the room, we were greeted with bowls and treats for our dog, a blanket, waste bags—everything was just perfect. The surroundings of the hotel are a magnificent park and forest, where you can wander endlessly with your dog and enjoy the beautiful nature. There’s even a lovely stream running by the hotel that your dog will surely appreciate. The hotel even offers dog-sitting services if needed, which we had never seen before.
But it's also perfect for people. Everyone here is incredibly kind and friendly, always ready to help or offer advice. The check-in process was probably the fastest I've ever experienced—within 20 seconds, we were checked in and heading to our room. The room was also fantastic: very spacious, with a beautiful balcony overlooking the park. The balcony was also quite large, with chairs and a table. Ideal for smokers. Our room had comfortable beds with comfy mattresses. There was even a sort of pseudo air conditioning, which worked well for us, and even in the middle of a hot day, the room was quite pleasant. The bathroom was also very spacious, with a large walk-in shower. The toilet was separate from the bathroom, another plus. The room also had a minibar with some basic non-alcoholic drinks and beer, and it was handy for storing and chilling our own beverages. The blackout curtains were sufficient, and the soundproofing of the room was excellent. We were not disturbed by any noise from the hotel hallway or outside, either during the night or in the morning.
The hotel pool is fairly large, and during our stay, even though it was high season and a Friday, there was almost no one there. And I haven't even mentioned their restaurant yet. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant, which is served buffet-style, all-you-can-eat. And the buffet was simply amazing. There was a wide selection of salads, several main courses, various sides, cheeses, and desserts—the choices were extensive. What’s important is that every dish was of very high quality and delicious. We enjoyed our meal tremendously, and it was an indulgence well worth the money. Our waiter, who also doubled as the bartender, pampered us too. He was incredibly kind, helpful, and even funny. He took great care of us, mixing excellent drinks. Thanks to him, we felt like royalty. I regret not asking for his name.
The next day, we also had breakfast at the restaurant, again buffet-style, and it was wonderful. Once again, a very wide selection, with everything we like.
In conclusion, our stay at Hotel Krainerhütte was an amazing experience. This is exactly how we imagine a hotel should care for and pamper its guests. This hotel can proudly boast its four stars from Hotelstars Union, as it fully deserves them. We can definitely recommend this hotel, whether for a short stopover or a longer stay. And as I mentioned earlier, we will definitely return here in the future.
There was nothing wrong with our stay. The only issue might be that they pampered us so much that now we’ll expect the same standard from other hotels, which might be a bit of a...
Read moreUnfortunately we were not satisfied. The hotel is nice and staff friendly, but that is...All in the hotel was so unpractical...rooms were not isolated from the street's and corridor's sounds, during the night there was a lot of light, there was only one really uncomfortable pillow. The toilet wasn't clean and I had to clean it before using. The hotel does not have a la carte menu and the choice from their buffet for 32 EUR was poor. There are no lifts so you have to go by foot to the second floor. If you wish to visit wellness, you have to pick up your towels in the reception. Then there are no cloak rooms, only few clothes boxes on the corridor. When it is time for a dinner and you wish to visit wellness, you have to undress yourself on the corridor while other people passing you in the evening clothes. The showers are located just in the area of the swimming pool, so everybody who is lying on the deck chairs, is watching you when you have taking a shower before swimming. How then you can wash yourself properly??? The water was not 29 degrees, but it was much more less. The breakfast was normal, rather for 3 star hotel. But what was really funny-if you wish to grab some vegetables, you have to peel it by yourself. You have to take e.g. whole pepper, peel it, take what you want and put back the rest for the others...I have never seen this before! How unhygienic! It is really pitty that this hotel in such amazing and nice surrounding cannot provide...
