We just stayed herefor a couple of days in May. And to keep it really brief: we had a great stay.||||The hotel is a really nice, cozy looking, typical austrian house, just as you´d expect. The staff is really friendly as well as helpfull. The room we had was very spatious, clean and modern. Food is being offered at pretty much every time of the day (not too sure about during the day, since we were out hiking). ||Maybe the best part was the very luxurious wellness area they have in the hotel. They have 3 different saunas and one infrared cabin. The wellness area looks like it´s brand new and just offered up the perfect relaxation atmosphere after our long hikes through the mountaineous area all around Hölzgau.||||The only thing a bit frustrating was the fact that they offered you a wireless access to their wifi, but hell, on 4 devices, we could not for the sake of us get it to work. I mean, there´s really no need to be connected all the time, but if you get an access code, you kind of expect it to work. ||||Otherwise our stay was perfect. 9,5/10, would most...

The very bad: several days in advance we had booked a table for 6 people at 6pm and arrived perfectly on time. Just over 1 hour later, after having had only a simple main course (no starter, no soup, no special dish) and asking for dessert, we were told without prior warning to move to the hotel lobby for ice cream and coffee so the table could be offered to additional diners. After that, service was predictively slow and cumbersome. Other guests looked at us like we were alien creatures locked up in a zoo. Very bad experience and a sour note to an otherwise excellent...
Read moreWe stayed here for one night for a stop on our E5 route. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable but outdated (80ties style) and no hair dryer in the room. The staff was very friendly but that is where my positive feedback stops. First, they charge for Iternet. Then, the breakfast was not the quality you would expect for the price, few choices only and charging for scrambled eggs. What I especially didn't like is a huge sign in the dining room to not take any food with you which is very uncommon in those areas as they are many hikers passing by. The dinner in the restaurant was ok, but overpriced. |Even the hotel staff was very friendly it didn't feel very welcoming and I would not...
