Forget the night skiing (Abendskilauf jeden Di & Do bis 18.30 Uhr auf der Heiligwasserpiste 7 möglich....NOPEEEEE)....today the night piste (2 course options with light) were completely occupied by training clubs (3 giant slalom and 1 special slalom). on my request i have been told that the area is reserved and i have been told to ski in the not illuminated piste... (which officially is closed) some mother with kids had to do the same. Basically you pay for a ticket but you are forced to ski on a not illuminated piste which is officially closed....so if you hurt yourself it is also your fault!!! the local lift technician told me that the reservation is not true BUT de facto there is no place left in between 3 training course and the trainers are annoyed if you ski in..... SKI somewhere else! not here on Tuesday and Thursday evenings....there is no space for paying locals/tourists which are not part of the clubs...go on Friday to the BergerAlm if you want a proper night...
Read moreThe original plan was to go snowboarding over Christmas but the lack of snow made that not feasible. We caught a bus from the Markthalle area which went directly to the resort. We had the Innsbruck pass so the bus and the single ride up came with it. The views off the bus were really nice but the view looking onto the mountain was not. There was no snow. We headed up the lift and past the first station to the top. The snow at the top was beautiful and powdery. Not many of the lifts were open so we didn't hire any gear or get a pass. It would have been nice to try but the effort wasn't worth it. The views up top were also quite nice and the snow was really good. It also started snowing which was nice as we weren't riding. We had a bit of a snack at the restaurant at the top before heading down. I would definitely be keen on coming back once there is snow to...
Read moreA great slope especially for those with young kids. Very well organised and tickets are easy to buy no waiting. There is a ski rental shop attached to the complex well stocked and with all sizes, they also sell gear at very reasonable prices. The cable car is clean and a good size for a family of 4 to comfortably sit, easy hop on hop off with minimal gaps and flush/level with the ramp. The beginner slopes are not too busy and the children's area is exceptional compared to other slopes. You can sit and have a coffee while watching kids ski. There are plenty of instructors at hand and you can book via the rental store. Lift access helps if you have a stroller or heavy gear. The lockers are well functioning and vary in size, can be rented from the store but they are always full so try to reserve...
