We spent 8 nights in this hotel last July as a family of 5 (kids were aged 1, 4 and 5 at the time). Its a family run hotel and the "room" we had was more like an apartment with a separate room for the girls with bunk beds and an extra bed and a living room/balcony and bedroom with room for a cot for the baby. Having the balcony was a bonus as we could sit outside while the children slept inside. ||||We were on a all inclusive basis which covered breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday. This also included all drinks. The food was good but after 8 days it could get a bit repetitive. In saying that there was plenty to choose from for the kids and us alike. There was a little separate area/kitchenette which had lots of baby food to choose from, a sink, microwave to heat the food, baby chairs, kid friendly crockery and cutlery. Very well set up and perfect for us with a one year old. ||||Kids club was great but as our kids did not speak german they were at a disadvantage as the two ladies running the club on the first day didn't speak English. Also being the only English speaking family staying at the time the kids club was full of children who spoke German so our kids kept to themselves and got involved as much as they could considering the language difficulties. In saying that the kids club was brilliant and our girls always wanted to go back everyday. They did lots of stuff indoors and outdoors. ||||They also offered horse riding which the girls loved. As the hotel is on a working farm there was a strong farm smell outside near the stables which my younger daughter couldn't handle but which my older daughter didn't notice too much. ||||Speaking of the language, I do speak German, albeit not so fluently anymore unfortunately but enough to get by and understand. Every night a program of events etc was placed on the dinner tables which of course was all in German. I appreciate we could just ask for assistance in translating anything we didn't know but I thought a nice touch would be an English version for the non german speaking family. ||||The hotel is located in a very beautiful part of Austria with fabulous scenery. We used bikes provided by the hotel to tour around the area, sometimes with the children in the seats attached to the bikes or on tandem bikes. The kids loved this.||We also swam in the lake outside the hotel and while it was cold it was very refreshing. THe hotel also has a lovely indoor pool and children's pool which we made full use of. ||||On a few occasions we dropped our 1 year old into the kids club for an hour here or there and he was fully supervised, one on one mostly which was a great comfort. This was particularly handy at dinner time so we could enjoy our meal and pick him up afterwards.||||Wifi was only available downstairs and not in the rooms which was a bit of a pain. ||||All in all it was a very enjoyable 8 days which we all enjoyed. Our Best Vacation Yet

We spent our summer holiday at the Furtherwirt estate again this year—this time with even more anticipation and ease. Last summer, we discovered this gem while looking for a high-quality riding vacation, and since we already knew what was waiting for us, we could enjoy every moment even more.

When planning our vacation, it’s always been important to us that both parents and kids get their share of joy and relaxation. And here, that balance is just right.

Our daughter, a passionate rider, was in absolute heaven. With more than 20 horses and an organic dairy farm on site, every day was an adventure. She had her own daily riding lessons, spent time with her new friends at the stables, and lovingly helped care for the horses—completely in her element.

While she was off enjoying herself, we parents took a slower pace. Whether watching the riding lessons from the warmth of the indoor pool, unwinding in the sauna, or treating ourselves to a bit of quiet time in the wellness area—this was relaxation as it should be.

Evenings brought their own little ritual. Around 8 p.m., the hotel’s cheerful mascot would gather the kids for the evening program, giving us parents time to enjoy a quiet drink and reflect on the day.

The Furtherwirt is run by two brothers, their families, and their parents—and that genuine family spirit is felt throughout the whole estate. From breakfast to bedtime, you sense that this isn’t just a business—it’s a heartfelt, hands-on experience.

What we really appreciated was that one of the hosts took the time to personally greet the guests. Despite the many tasks that come with running such a place, it’s clear that the well-being of guests—especially the children—is always at the heart of it all. Servus zusammen, Wir haben unsere Weihnachtsferien dieses Jahr für 5 Tage am Furtherwirt verbracht und möchten unsere überwiegend positiven wie aber auch kleinere Negative Erlebnisse in dieser Bewertung ausführlich bewerten um der sympathischen Familie Hagsteiner die Möglichkeit zu geben sich noch weiter zu verbessern. Um diesem tollen Hotel nicht zu schaden, vergeben wir auch gerne 5 Sterne, denn Nobody is Perfect, doch bei der Familie Hagsteiner war deutlich zu spüren dass Sie sich alle Mühe geben um Ihre Gäste glücklich zu machen.

Frühstück - Abendessen Absolut Top. Geschmack & Auswahl hervorragend. Qualitativ hochwertige Produkte !! Einzig an der Nachmittagsjause wäre eine kleine Auswahl für Kinder verbesserungswürdig. Servicepersonal immer greifbar & sehr zuvorkommend.

Spielbereich für Kinder Sehr schön und liebevoll eingerichtet. Etwas Schade finden wir dass nur Kinder die Betreut werden das ganze Angebot nutzen können, da Eltern in diesem Bereich weniger erwünscht sind. Konzept des Hotels ist verständlich, jedoch für schüchterne Kinder die nicht in der Betreuung bleiben vergleichsweise eher wenig Möglichkeiten sich auszutoben. Erschreckend war hier leider ein Erlebnis, bei dem ich selbst anwesend war. Während mein 5 Jähriger im 3-4 Meter hohem Spielturm kletterte ging plötzlich dass Licht darin aus und es war Stockdunkel. Auf Nachfrage bei der Betreuerin wurde mir gesagt dass sich einige ältere Kinder sich dass so wünschten. Mein 5 Jähriger ist verängstigt im dunkeln wird runter geklettert und hat den Turm seitdem nicht mehr betreten. Bei allem Respekt, man kann von einem 5 Jährigen nicht erwarten, dass wenn dieser alleine in der Betreuung gewesen wäre, er sich dem Wunsch mehrerer 10 Jähriger entgegenstellt.

Reinigungspersonal Sehr freundlich, trotz gutem Trinkgeld aber sehr wenig Leistung. Kinderbetten wurden mehrfach nicht gemacht und eingepinkeltes Laken auf Wunsch nicht erneuert. Erst nach Beschwerde bei der Senior Chefin wurde innerhalb weniger Minuten alles in Ordnung gebracht.

Außenbereich & Ausflüge Wirklich Empfehlenswert. Kälber, Kühe & Pferde werden liebevoll & professionell behandelt. Kinder haben die Möglichkeit zu füttern, zu streicheln und dank fachkundigem Personal auch darüber zu lernen. Viele Ausflugsmöglichkeiten vor allem im Winter.

Schwimmbad & Sauna Sehr schön und liebevoll ausgestattet und sehr sauber. Wassertemperatur im großen Becken, für unser Empfinden, leider 1-2°C zu kalt.

Zimmer & Ausstattung Alles Tip Top , hatten eine der renovierten Suiten und nichts daran auszusetzen.

Baby Bar Hier haben wir leider, glücklicherweise vor dem Verzehr, ein abgelaufenes Gläschen feststellen müssen. Zudem wird damit geworben wirklich alles vorrätig zu haben. Dass Milchpulver für Kleinkinder war jedoch, auch auf Nachfrage leider nicht vorhanden. Hier war nur Milchpulver für Säuglinge 1-3 vorhanden.

Hervorzuheben ist eine Sache die hoffentlich nicht allzu viele Eltern Bewerten können. Unser 1 Jähriger Sohn schnappte sich in einem unachtsamen Moment ein Trinkglas in unserem Zimmer, fiel damit hin und rammte sich dass Trinkglas in sein Kinn. Betonen möchten wir hierbei ausdrücklich dass die volle Schuld bei uns als Eltern und nicht ansatzweise am Hotel liegt. Wie hier jedoch gehandelt wurde ist mehr als vorbildlich und dafür sind wir absolut dankbar ! An der Rezeption habe ich um Hilfe gebeten, innerhalb von Sekunden wurde der Notarzt informiert und der Junior Chef stand zur Erstversorgung in unserem Zimmer. Wir wurden bei jedem Schritt von diesem beruhigt und vorbildlich unterstützt. Meine Frau wurde mit unserem Sohn ins Krankenhaus eingeliefert, die Wunde geklebt und anschließend vom Senior Chef höchstpersönlich vom Krankenhaus wieder ins Hotel transferiert. Meine Hochachtung vor so einem Service !!! In diesem Hotel kann man sich auch bei einem Unfall absolut top versorgt fühlen. Vielen Dank dafür.
