The kitchen provides perfect care, the fine, tasty meals are made from products of local producers, vegetables, kitchen herbs are grown in the castle's own garden, cheerful chickens run at the end of the park in the chicken garden and deliver the eggs for breakfast and the homemade cakes. The castle is situated a little above the village with a beautiful view, behind it the forest begins where you can start with walks and hikes in front of the house door. The reason you come here is because it isn't like anywhere else. Pichlschloss is a family run business that is run with heart and what it lacks in modern chic it makes up for in ever other way. The food (all locally produced) is delicious, the rooms are comfortable, warm and clean and if the weather is good you will be blessed with views and countryside that will stay with you for a lifetime. For those who like the outdoors there is a playground at your disposal, hiking, biking or just ambling from one heurige to the next. For those who thirst for culture you won't be disappointed, the schloss alone is from around the 14C. This is a place we have returned to a few times, we have brought friends young and old, spent the weekend enjoying the outdoors and the evenings treasuring...

Zwei mal waren wir hier bereits zu Gast und konnten die besondere Atmosphäre dieses Orts genießen. Etwas außerhalb von Neumarkt auf einem Hügel, umgeben von Wäldern gelegen, hat die Besitzerfamilie es verstanden, den alten, charmanten "Schlosscharakter" zu bewahren und gleichzeitig dieses Haus im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes "in Schuss" zu halten: Es wirkt nirgendwo muffig oder abgewohnt, sondern sehr authentisch und mit Liebe zum Detail ausgestattet ohne überladen zu sein. Es ist herrlich, den Holzboden unter den Füßen knarren zu hören, wenn man sich auf sein Zimmer begibt und die weiße, blau umrandete doppelte Zimmertüre dann mit einem "richtigen" Zimmerschlüssel mit Eisenbart öffnet. Oder sich in die Bibliothek in ein gemütliches Fauteuil setzt und in einem Buch schmökert oder sich leise unterhält. Zur Wohlfühlatmosphäre trägt in besonderer Weise die Geschäftsführerin bei, der man es anmerkt, dass ihr das Wohlergehen der Gäste und das ganze Haus ein Herzensanliegen ist. Freundlichkeit und Herzlichkeit sind spürbar echt und nicht aufgesetzt. Dies setzt sich daher auch beim gesamten Personal fort. Irgendwie hat man das Gefühl, man ist bei einer Familie zu Gast und fühlt sich dabei bald auch eingeschlossen.
