Vitalhotel Edelweiss — Hotel in Neustift im Stubaital

Vitalhotel Edelweiss is our favorite hotel in Austria. This was our fifth week-long winter stay at the hotel and each visit is like returning to our Austrian home away from home. This award-winning, family-owned four-star superior hotel is located in a quiet hamlet in one of the most beautiful valleys in Tyrol, the Stubaital. Owners Roland and Manuela Pfurtscheller and their daughters Tamara and Vanessa have created something very special here, with the help of their exceptional team who truly understand the Austrian tradition of Gemütlichkeit (cozy friendliness). Roland's modern expansion of the hotel in 2014 brought in state-of-the-art improvements while retaining the traditional spirit of Tyrol. ||||Vitalhotel Edelweiss is surrounded by the stunning beauty of the Stubaital valley, on the edge of a forest and alpine meadows at about 3832 feet (1168 m). The hotel is a short fifteen-minute drive to the world-class Stubai Glacier cable cars at Mutterberg, as well as three other impressive cable car systems: the Schlick 2000 at Fulpmes, the Gondelbahn Serles in Mieders, and the Elferbahnen in Neustift im Stubaital. For non-skiers in winter, there are beautiful, well-maintained Winterwanderweg hiking trails as well as cross-country skiing trails. On one snowy day, we drove 30 minutes north to Innsbruck and explored the beautiful Altstadt with its fascinating Hapsburg history and traditions. We also visited the impressive Swarovski Kristallwelten art museum and park in Wattens. ||||At Vitalhotel Edelweiss, our modern country suite was spotless and tastefully decorated with Tyrolean accents and natural wood high ceilings. The balcony offered an impressive view of the valley looking south toward the glacier. The spacious allergy-free room contained a super-comfortable bed with quality linen and pillows, and a cozy sitting area with a couch and television. Our room also had a drinking fountain with fresh mountain spring water, a minibar with a thoughtful welcome gift, wooden floors, and a bathtub and walk-in rain shower. We loved our country suite—thank you, Georgina!||||The spa facilities at Vitalhotel Edelweiss are amazing, with three unique saunas—a Finnish hut sauna, a brine steam bath, and a herbal sauna—relaxation rooms with water beds and heated loungers, and breathtaking mountain views. The spa also offers a variety of wellness treatments, including several different massages and body treatment packages—my wife loved the Alpienne Package. My favorite spa features are the indoor pool for doing laps, the workout area, and the outdoor heated pool to take in the transcendent beauty of this valley. The wellness spa facilities are all spotless and meticulously maintained.||||Perhaps our favorite part of staying at Vitalhotel Edelweiss is enjoying the creative regional and international cuisine and wine. Our days started with an impressive breakfast buffet offering cereal, yogurts, fruits, freshly prepared egg dishes (the lovely Ivana makes the best omelets and eggs), coffees and teas, fresh warm breads and croissants, cold cuts, a variety of cheeses, and seasonal products from the area. Afternoon snacks included delicious cakes, cookies, and warm dishes. We were most impressed with their five-course dinners consisting of an hors d'oeuvre, an extensive salad bar and starters buffet, soups, a choice from several creative and delicious main entrees of meat, fish, or vegetarian. And of course we loved the delicious dessert offerings. Our waiter Svetln recommended several wonderful Austrian wines during our stay, and he always seemed to know our food tastes and preferences. His friendly service is truly outstanding! So many of the staff contribute to the wonderful experience of this hotel. One night was dedicated to traditional Tyrolean food, which we enjoyed very much.||||During the evenings, the hotel arranged activities for the guests. Tamara and her excellent reception team helped coordinate these activities. We really enjoyed the local historian's presentation and slide show on the history of the Stubaital. One night we were treated to authentic live music from two talented local women singers calling themselves Duo Herzklang. Their voices and guitar and accordion accompaniment were so beautiful. The bartender Beata was always so nice and ready to mix whatever drink we requested. The hotel also organized nighttime guided hikes in nearby alpine meadows. The Pfurtschellers' focus is always on their guests and making their stay special and memorable—and they always succeed with us.||||Each time we return to Vitalhotel Edelweiss for our winter vacation, it feels like coming home. We spent one week in the hotel this summer and it has not been enough! Superb care of details by the owners: a very good-mannered family that constantly and invisibly check that everything is perfect. An excellent Food service: in organization, quality, flavor of the meals as well as for the variety of the main courses well distributed during all the week. Maids and Waitresses are kind and very qualified. Lots of additional services also for kids with dedicate areas even in the restaurant in order to guarantee a peaceful relax to every kind of people. Majestic the SPA, tidy, clean and in constant enhancement. Is pointless to speak about the location of the hotel, simply perfect and strategic to reach every corner of the valley easily, in particular the most famous and relevant destinations. Very appreciated the Stubay card provided for free at the arrival which allow to enjoy all the attractions of the valley. At last but not the least, the paramount e-bike service provided at a very good price with the opportunity to request additional child-sit for free. Special Regards needs to be addressed to the two ponies ever ready to eat grass and to bring child around. 1A, unsere Lieblingshotel seit 13 Jahren. Man sollte ankommen und sich wie zuhause fühlen und das ist so. Wir haben das Hotel noch vor dem großen Umbau bzw Anbau kennen gelernt. Und da war es noch ein wenig familiärer. Größer dürfte es jetzt nicht mehr werden 😉es kommen hauptsächlich Stammgäste und wir haben schon viele nette Gäste dort getroffen. Sogar Freundschaften geschlossen 💞wir lieben die gute Küche, die tolle Terrasse, den Wellness Bereich, "unser Kaminzimmer", die Massagen, Yoga mit Sigrid (beste Yoga Lehrerin), die Sauberkeit, die Ruhe, die Aussicht, die Freundlichkeit vom Personal Es passt einfach alles. Aber ist natürlich immer Geschmackssache. Wirklich das Einzigste was uns fehlt sind vielleicht die Abend Spaziergänge nach dem vielen Essen. Denn wenn es dunkel ist, sieht man einfach nix und ausser in den einzig kleinen Ort zu laufen, ist nichts weiter möglich. Da braucht man schon wieder ein Auto oder gute Taschenlampen. Ruhig gelegen halt 😉 Wir haben natürlich schon wieder für 2022 gebucht. Vom Hotel werden Wanderungen und Radtouren geboten, das haben wir noch nicht genutzt, wir sind meist zum Skifahren dort und bei schlecht Wetter unternehmen wir eigenständig was, Ziele gibt es genug in der schönen Gegend 👍dieses Jahr empfehlen wir ausser Innsbruck auch noch das Kühtal, das war traumhaft schön dort, ca 1 Std Autofahrt, sehenswert die Tour. (alte Brennerstrasse nehmen ) So 2022 wieder hier gewesen. Alles wieder top. Der Gast ist hier König und wieder nette Leute aus der Schweiz und Belgien kennen gelernt. Wir waren außerhalb der Schulferien hier. Es gibt für Eltern mit Kindern einen tollen Bereich im Speisesaal der autak liegt. Finde ich Mega, der ruhesuchende Gast sollte auch ein Recht auf Ruhe beim Essen und im Sauna - bzw Ruheraum Bereich haben. Kinder dürfen in den Aussen Pool im Sauna Bereich 2x täglich 30 Minuten toben. Das wird auch kontrolliert und wir und die Gäste finden das korrekt. Für viel Spaß steht den Kids der Innenpool und viele weitere Möglichkeiten zur Verfügung. So dass Ruhesuchende Gäste ihren wohlverdienten Urlaub genießen können. Ein Danke an das Hotel dass sich Alle wohlfühlen dürfen 👍gerne kommen wir, sowie viele Stammgäste, immer wieder 💞 2023 wieder besucht, sag ja ein Muss bzw. unser Wellness Urlaub schlechthin. Eine Woche im April weil wir gerne noch Skifahren möchten. Klappt auch meistens, das Wetter war bescheiden dieses Jahr wie überall halt. Aber Wetter lässt sich nun mal nicht mit buchen. Wieder nette Gäste kennen gelernt aus Leipzig und viele Stammgäste getroffen. Wir sind jetzt uns alle einig, wir lieben hier den Service, die Ruhe, das Wellness und das gute Essen 😉 Wetter bedingt waren wir einen Tag in Bozen (wärmer), sehr zu empfehlen und einen Tag in Innsbruck (Shopping). Skifahren war Gott sei Dank auch drei x drin. Wir fahren nur wenn wir auch was sehen können 😉 Gerade wird wieder umgebaut. Das Hotel ist jetzt früher geschlossen aber bei Umbau gibt's Krach und Dreck und das mag niemand im Urlaub. Wir lassen uns gerne überraschen für April 2024 dann wieder. Wenn der gute Service bleibt dann kommt auch der Gast immer wieder...
