We arrived about in the mid afternoon and there was a lady who looked like she had been gardening. Rather an unpleasant soul. She told us that the key would be in the door and that dinner was at 1830. Well, there was no key in the door, but a nice man helped us out and got us a key. Then at about 1800 the owner came to see if we were coming for dinner and told us it was from 1700 – 1900. Imagine that. So down we went as we were hungry. After that original interaction, all the people we spoke with were helpful and kind.||||I had requested dinner and gotten a response but was grateful that they knew nothing about it because it was cheaper to order off the menu. The dining room is lovely and traditional. Menu options are good and prices reasonable. Some things aren’t available but there are options (and this is off-season). The servers are very nice and the younger lady speaks good English and helped us with several things. The other lady is so sweet and served us at breakfast, we were able to understand each other. Breakfast was good. Eggs, cheeses, meats, packaged cheese, lots of pretty and tasty breads, jams, butter, yogurts, fruit, juice and great coffee. ||||Room at the end of the hall (up one flight of stairs, I think room 5), with a great view of the valley and mountains. There is a good sized shared deck with a table and two chairs. We brought the table and chairs in to play cards. The room is not that big, but there is an occasional chair (my partner said, no so comfy) and lots of light with 2 large windows and a glass door. Tough to leave open 2 suitcases open. ||||The bathroom is modern and well appointed with a good shelf and another window. ||||The Pension is very pretty and the surrounding are glorious!||||We would be happy to return an...

It is very clear that they did not invest enough in the mattress as it already had a hole where your body is sinking in. I would suggest again to put a good topper on the bed. Breakfast was very nice.
It was our 2nd time staying at Aschlandhof for a night, before driving to Italy. First time wasn't great, small room, really bad bed, noisy rooms, not a lot of light entering the room, but very friendly people and an environment that is like in a movie. Upon the reservation, I asked for a bigger room, but this wasn't available anymore. When we arrived, I saw we had the same room as, I guess 2 years before, and I was cursing. We entered the room (7) and it has been renovated. New bed, looks more spacey, new furniture, and I felt joy. We went to have dinner, another reason why we came back, the food is very nice, had a beer and decided to go to the room have a shower and go to sleep. Again, a new bed, but the investment in the mattress is not what it should be. They should buy a heavy topper to solve the problem. I was laying in an ditch from ppl who slept there before me. My husband had no problem with it at all, but being a very difficult sleeper, I had once again a very bad night. Breakfast was very nice as is everyone that is working...
Read moreThis was recommended to us by a friend, and how right they were. This excellant hotel is in a truely beautiful place which anyhone would be unlikely to find by accident. The rooms spacious, modern fittings, good bathrrom. Our visit was very late in their season and we were the only resident visitors. Despite this, the food was excellant, with virtually the whole menu being available for the evening meal. Same at breakfast, no limitations as to quantity or quality. The views from the hotel are worth the visit alone. Such a...
