Had a fabulous week at this lovely hotel. The location is just perfect for skiing. ||Go down to boot room - open locker- warm and toasty boot-walk to snow cab -30 seconds- get in - up you go- 2 /3 min arrive in middle of our favourite run in Hochgurgl No 33. We had the first couple of runs virtually to ourselves. Didn't feel the need to go over to Obergurgl once. Was also nice skiing past people in the mele trying to get the top express, we just skied another 5 mins back to the safety of our snow cab which was fabulous when the weather came in you knew you could get home easily.||The staff are just so lovely, special mention to Josef, Acosh and another waiter whose name I didnt get. They cant do enough for you and are very sincere unlike some other ski hotels where everyone is just looking for tips, which the next hotel we went to in Obergurgl seemed to be only bothered about. The owner Carmen Riml also very helpful and friendly and organised for our luggage to be taken over to the next hotel in Obergurgl in their shuttle.||The food was great, salads, fish, meat, vegetarian and childrens choice. Went back for lunch one day when the weather came in and it was absolutely delicious, vegetable curry witht he crunchiest freshest vegetables.||This is a family hotel and no large groups. In the evening everyone sits around tables in the lovely bar area and play games. There was live music one night which we missed as we were too tired. One night they had a little sing a long which was lovely. Mainly German/Austrian clientele, think there was only one other english person there but everyone very friendly and chatty and speak perfect english (much to our shame at not being able to be as good).||There is table tennis, table football and a tv in the basement.. The tv got live channels from the Uk so could watch the rugby. There is a wellness area but we didnt venture in there.||Shuttle to ski school/obergurgl and hochgurgl.||Hopefully when the madness of this horrible virus calms down we are able to go back next year and in future years take the grandchildren as this is one of my...
Read moreFrom walking through the door we were made to feel more than welcome and we are already discussing when we can come back . Gurgl was a great ski experience already but Hotel Wurmkogel was the icing on the cake . All the staff are wonderful without ever imposing anything on you. The half pension was wonderful , dietary requests no problem and the salad buffet allowed for adding veg to an otherwise wintry menu options that you got to choose from daily . Excellent breakfast too . Only thing we noticed is how early everything is put out on the buffet in a rather warm cozy environment , but everything always tasted fresh. The wine list is extensive at fair prices . We enjoyed the bar / lounge area after a day skiing or for some games after dinner. And skiing was super easy walking from the ski room into the snow cab to the piste in minutes . That’s how you can come for lunch too as an outside guest . Or ski down on the way home via a black run and then a few minutes walk across the road . The room was comfortable (Edel in Weiss) and perfect for a week. We had allergies keeping us up but when we mentioned this we were offered different non down pillows instantly , super helpful. The wellness at the end of the day get super busy so we figured after a few days that it was best to wait until after 530pm to enjoy it in a bit more quiet time. Also since despite the signs not to reserve the relax beds guests thought that didn’t apply to them and-reserved all the beds … We really are blown away with the hospitality and...

You ordered your evening meal & they explained what they were going to make as an alternative gluten-free meal for Jane. |We enjoyed every meal, sometimes I wished I’d have the gluten-free option, it looked & tasted so good. |The restaurant is on different levels & sections which gives it a cosy feeling. The decor throughout the hotel is high end with a lot of thought put into it. |The room was very comfortable & roomy, with a small bathroom including bath, ours overlooked the snow cab & down The Valley through woodland. |One of the great things is you walk straight out of the ski room & into the ‘snow cab’ which is a private monorail that takes you directly to the piste. Where you have to ski down to the Hochgurglbahn 1, it’s an easy Red run.|So at the end of the day after enjoying the wonderful skiing the resort offers you just ski back to the ‘snow cab’ & into the ski room or if you’re late returning down the black to the T bar station & across the road. There are secure ski & boot lockers with boot warmers for each of the rooms.|The Wellness facilities are wonderful.|The staff are professional, knowledgeable & friendly.|We absolutely loved the Mein...
