I went with my boyfriend for the weekend before the 15th August and we loved it. It's a great place to be in any season. The view from the terrace is really beautiful all green in summer and all white in winter 😍 We stayed there two nights, so we ate breakfast and dinner there. The food is really amazing and it is international cuisine with flavors mainly from Greek and Austrian dishes. Since we are both from Mediterranean countries, the Knödel is one of our less favorite dishes. But they really nailed it! It was the best Knödel, we have eaten the last 7 years in Austria. Not only that but everything was really melting in the mouth. Big thank you to the kitchen: Irene, Prokopi and Giannis as well as the service: Antonio, Daria and Pavel. The goat cheese we had for appetizer it wad of course the best! For the rooms, I put one less star, because even though they were very beautiful and cozy, we had a very bad smell in the shower throughout the whole stay. Also a leakage from the sink, which resulted in a mini flood, even when we were not in the room.

Recently, my girlfriend and I had the privilege to stay at the Residenz Hochalm in Hinterglemm for a special Summer getaway 🌞. Nestled amidst pristine landscapes, this hotel served as our gateway to both magnificent hiking trails and the breathtaking Zell am See lake nearby🏞️. But what truly made our stay exceptional was the culinary magic spun by Chef Iannis, Irini, and Procopi🍲. Their exquisite dishes were a gastronomic delight, making each meal a memorable experience. Also, a heartfelt shoutout to Pavel, Daria, and Antonio, who ensured we felt right at home throughout our stay. I wholeheartedly recommend Residenz Hochalm for anyone looking for an authentic and top-tier Austrian experience!"🇦🇹🏆

We arrived after a long drive to Residenz Hochalm. It is a very narrow upward drive to hotel. Missed the small sign and had to turn around on the narrow steep drive. We parked below in the garage and walked up to reception. Melina warmly greeted us and checked us into our room. There was no one to help with luggage. We had to carry our luggage up 10-12 steps to the level of the elevator. And then another two steps to reach elevator. Our room was for three people. You walk in to a shower/ sink on your right and on your left a cupboard for clothing. Next is a private WC. The main room has a bed, desk and private balcony and TV. Above is a loft with another bed and private balcony overlooking the mountain. We were in room 212 which was on the end and corner. A good location. Our reservation included half board. Our dinners were magnificent. We had assigned table and our servers, Manuel and Andrea were attentive and friendly. In the morning we had a delicious breakfast with many food choices. Annie our server was friendly and kind. Schorti made our omelettes daily. They were delicious. We then went to the front desk to enquirer about ski rentals and ski passes. We purchased a day pass. We only needed to rent skis. Sonia told us the rental place Hubsi’s was a five minute walk. Not true. It took us 20 minutes one way. The steps behind reception were not cleared and impassable so had to go out the way we came in by car. Hubsi’s is a family owned rental shop and they were very warm and accommodating. We were able to leave our snow boots there and ski on. When we returned they were gracious to drive us back to our hotel at it was a long walk with skis. We put our skis and boots in the ski locker. In the afternoon they had afternoon snacks. One Austrian specialty was sliced pork. It was prepared to look like ham. It was delicious. Silvario and Manuel were our servers and did a lovely job. Snack time was a nice touch. The last night was a buffet which was good too. All dinners were 7 course with choices. Wonderful. When we checked out they asked for our ski passes and room keys. They were going to charge 2 Euro’s for ski passes and 2 Euro for room key. We returned the room key. However we already had our bags in the car, packed and decided not to return passes. Strange as we paid for Ski pass yet they wanted them back. In the states you buy a pass. It’s yours and you reload each day. Would have been helpful to know that when we checked in. We also went downtown once with our car. They park cars off property so it takes 30 minutes to get your car. Downtown we received two tickets even though we had a parking clock in our window. One time they said you needed to put a ticket from the machine on your dash instead of the parking clock. Very confusing and unfriendly parking attendants. Advice. Don’t take car downtown. Other than that we enjoyed our time. You could ski from hotel to lift if you have all your equipment. If not you take the next lift down which is quite a walk from the hotel. All in all wonderful snow. |Ricardo the manager made our...

This hotel's location is both a positive and a negative. It's right at the end of the valley beside the last ski lift. The road beyond it literally comes to a dead end. This is great in terms of getting out on and back from the slopes, but unless you want to spend €25 each way on a taxi to Saalbach, you're going to spend all your evening time in the hotel. This is great if you're a couple skiing over a weekend, but not if you're there for 3/4 nights and looking for a bit of night life.||Otherwise the hotel is pretty standard. The food was OK. The evening salad buffet was the same every night, and fairly limited, although the soup, main course and dessert did change. The breakfast buffet was also the same every day, and again, fairly limited in terms of choice. Service was good, although a little slow at peak times.||The spa facilities consisted of a few saunas. There's no pool. Fairly basic, but adequate.||The bar was quite nice, but lacked any real character. You could have been in a bar in any city centre or airport hotel. No real alpine feel. Staff in bar were very good. Very friendly and helpful.||Overall, a good choice in terms of value and facility for skiing in the area, but you won't be blown away, and beware of the distance...
