Hotel-Gasthof Botenwirt — Hotel in Spital am Pyhrn

The hotel serves very limited breakfast - the ingredients would cost you about 1EUR if you visit the local shop - you don't even get any vegetables, not even speaking about eggs or sausage. Dinners are slightly better, but this strongly depends on the day - once got pasta drowning in waterish sauce with hardly any meat inside; many other meals were dried out.

The beds are very uncomfortable - the mattress would set you off about 25EUR if you go and try buying the same in Ikea. The room temperature varies from terribly hot in the afternoon to too cold in the night (the blankets provided are way to little to keep you warm).

There is no ski room and hardly any place you can hang out with your friends.

However the worst about the Botenwirt is the owner (or manager). The man does not care about his guests and surely does not make any effort to get them stay in his hotel ever again. He is by far the most rude owner of the hotel I have ever met. And the way he treats his own staff is even worse - it's just worthless wasting time to describe it.

Avoid unless you really have no other place to stay (though your car might be better...

Wir haben mit 7 Leuten hier übernachtet und ich kam mir noch nie so unerwünscht vor wie hier! Zur Begrüßung hob die Dame an der Rezeption noch nicht einmal den Kopf. Als sie dann doch mit uns sprach, erklärte sie, was alles NICHT geht, Frühstück erst ab acht und Biergarten & Restaurant schließen um 21.00 Uhr. Wir hätten gerne am ersten Urlaubsabend den Biergarten genossen und äußerten Bedauern, dass so früh geschlossen wird - daraufhin kam „ich lasse mich nicht anschnauzen, wir arbeiten ab morgens 6.00 Uhr und wenn uns das nicht passe, könnten wir ja in eine andere Kneipe gehen“. Diese extreme Unfreundlichkeit der Tochter (? ....blond, sehr kurze Haare, burschikos) gab sich auch nicht mehr, im Biergarten wurde man nicht bedient und wenn man etwas bestellen wollte, gab es wieder einen auf den Deckel. Wir wischten uns die nassen Tische selbst ab, auch dafür kassierten wir Schelte....|Zimmer sind ok, die Pizza ist hervorragend und ich kann nur empfehlen, den Koch nicht zu vergraulen, denn dann hat man gar keinen Grund mehr, den Botenwirt zu besuchen. |Wir kommen aber ganz...
