The best feature of this hotel is the swimming pool coupled with spectacular panoramic views. Fantastic. Except you cannot access the pool until 10AM - at checkout time … very cunning!! So make sure you use the pool when you first arrive. The restraunt is nice too, with quality food, however I did not like the elitist booking system where our dinner and breakfast seat was predetermined by admin … we had no say … and were not allowed to have a window seat to enjoy the view while dining … but as no one occupied the first row seats, we were able to still see the wonderful view from our table. Ironically (and somewhat miraculously) just as we were finishing, and ‘first class’ gradually arrived to take their seats, a storm of clouds descended resulting in zero visibility for all! For us, it was very nice while it lasted! The standard nicely decorated room is quite nice and mostly (with a few bugs) clean (but barely a view) but there is no air conditioning, so leaving the window and door open is a security risk but you will be cooler!! The bathroom is small and the poor shower design means the floor becomes more like a wading pool. The beds are very basic design with saggy mattress and saggy suffocating all-night sleepless pillows. Breakfast is served in the same restaurant and like dinner was good ‘continental’ quality with the option of making your own egg breakie but you need to ask for someone to do it for you - which turned out delicious. Again great views, but if you’re coming bring your own mini kettle, fan and firm pillow and try to book a room that ensures dinner and...
Read moreThe room was nice but they were down below and they did not have wifi repeaters so in order to use internet, you had to go up 2 floors and only when you were in reception, did the wifi work. The toilet was in separate door from bath and basin which was weird. Also the glass to bathroom and wc was sorta open so you could see into your naked friend which gave little privacy 😁. The view outside the room was beautiful. The pool closed at 21 so we didnt manage to use it as we arrived pretty late. There is almost nothing to do around, there is like the café and the pizzeria. The church was obviously closed. Woman on phone said it was 110 euros but didnt mention that was only for 1 person.
Breakfast was very nice with a good assortment of stuff to pick from. Make sure to be there early as the purpleish yoghurt was out when I wanted some for müsli and cereals. Also you cook eggs yourself there, learned the hard way by my friend, haha.
The room was super hot during night as there was no AC. You could leave the terrass door open tho.
Also we drove from Croatia where there was 34 degrees celcius to St Agatha where it was 18 degrees then 8 in the morning. Brrr 😁
For the price I'd say it cost way too much for...
Read moreWe stayed here as one of our legs on a biking trip down the Danube. It is isolated, therefore once you are there, you have few options. Probably 8k from the river. The rooms themselves were fine however I found the 2-class system wanting. Upon our arrival we were given a room with absolutely no view. I asked the reception if we could change to a more suitable room.. They declined our request, even though the hotel was 1/2 empty with ample rooms with views available. We had a similar situation at dinner. We went into the restaurant and they seated us at a table in the middle of the room. They were some very nice tables with fantastic views that were empty and when I inquired if we could move they said no and that this would be our table for breakfast also. What I've concluded is that this hotel is basically a spa and people that reserve a room based on using the facilities are given the nicest rooms, tables for meals, etc. Those that are paying less are restricted from nicer tables and rooms with views. Not a marketing ploy I would use during a shoulder season.... I would not recommend this hotel for people on a biking trip. Continue your journey to...
