Berggasthof Steckholzer — Hotel in Vals

We were in two and rented a single room (not the apartment), half pension (breakfast and dinner included). We had originally discovered this place in January when we were in the area via a sign posted along the road and went to check out the restaurant. ||||The room was immaculate, modern yet retaining its historic/rustic charm. We had a balcony overlooking the property. The bathroom was a perfect size for the two of us, with a big shower (no bathtub). The shower is big enough even for a plus-size person to move around in, with water pressure that was amazing! The original part of the building is 700 years old and is well-maintained.||||Martina and her family are very welcoming and make you feel at home the minute you walk in the door. As if you’ve known each other for years! This is a very family friendly place. This is one of the most incredible places. The owners are so friendly and welcoming. They truly care about their guests. The views from the room overlooking a beautiful green valley with magnificent mountains with cows and a creek you can hear at night adds that special something. Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt in diesem Berggasthof! Unser Zimmer war sehr geräumig für uns vier und makellos sauber – dazu kamen die mit Abstand bequemsten Betten unserer ganzen Reise. Das gesamte Haus ist gemütlich und mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Überall findet man kleine Sitzecken mit Büchern, Magazinen und Spielen – perfekt, um sich wohlzufühlen. ||Auch der Hof selbst ist ein absolutes Highlight: hübsche, zutrauliche Tiere und eine traumhafte Landschaft, die wir direkt vom Haus aus auf herrlichen Wanderwegen entdecken konnten. ||Ein absolutes Erlebnis war die Küche: Wir haben zweimal abends gegessen und waren jedes Mal begeistert. Von der Vorspeise, über Hauptgericht bis zum Dessert war alles ausgezeichnet, frisch und mit Liebe zubereitet und sehr reichlich – hier geht garantiert niemand hungrig ins Bett. ||Was unseren Aufenthalt schließlich perfekt gemacht hat, war die Herzlichkeit und Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeiter.
