This place was really great for skitours and I inagine it would be perfect for summer hikes. The owner of the hut put transceivers in the field so that the place is perfect for practicing acalanche rescues/ LVS training. The owners Tobias and Maria and their staff are super friendly and the food was definitely the best food I've ever had at an alpine lodge. The lodge also has an indoor and outdoor bouldering wall which would be great for warmer weather. I can highly recommend this place and look forward to going back!

Modern, clean, cozy, vegan-friendly hut. Perfect organization, fast and friendly service. They accept card payments for everything, except for the hot shower: you need to buy a coin (3 euro) and this you should pay in cash. They have many vegan visitors, and vegan food is really good. We had half board and this included soup, salad, main dish and dessert. Totally worth it! Tasty and nutritious. Thank you, Lizumer Hütte Team! PS: Try their Zirbn Spritz lemonade - unusual taste of fir cones)

This cottage is very nice! Everything is clean with warm water, very friendly staff and also very good food for a fair amount of money! We took half pension and it was well with it! Sleeping places are also comfortable, even though I will NEVER understand while some stupid people make their way up in a cottage with the cable car and must take a place in the sleeping rooms where all the hikers sleep and keep them awake with their snarking! You might just take room then!

After more than 10 hours of walking on a not easy route, when we arrived at Lizumer Hut, extremely tired, we were greeted by a Mr. Tobi, who introduced himself as the owner of the cabin and ordered us to sit down, to order drink, then to eat, then to check in and only then to wash. Extremely strange!! When I arrived, I wanted nothing more than to settle down and wash, things that were forbidden to me if I didn't order a drink first and didn't eat. No one asked me if I really wanted to drink at that moment. Nowhere in the presentation of the hut were such rules described. It's a different world at Tobi's Hut, with different rules compared to the rules of the free and civilized world. Everything is different, from the obligation to follow some stupid rules, to Tobi's behavior, extremely aggressive and totally inappropriate. Maybe it's the language barrier, but he seemed to manage to speak in English, nevertheless nothing justifies such behavior towards those who are his guests and who made a reservation in advance. Totally unfriendly was also the fact that the menu and all the indications and inscriptions in the hut were in German, that says a lot about the hospitality of the place. I definitely won't go ...

This is a spectacular hut. Of course it’s beautiful with a spectacular setting and plenty of options for ski tours from the hut, but it also sets itself apart from others in a few important ways. One, the caretakers are incredible—checking in on us every day, remembering our names, fluent in many languages—and friendly in all of them! Two, the food is incredible—it often is at Austrian huts, but craft beer on the menu!!! Organic coffee! Local meats, cheeses (from next door), and sourdough breads. Amazing. Finally there are some small, but noticeable touches that are annoyances at other huts which are avoided here. One, they embrace and encourage you to make a sandwich for your tour at breakfast. Two, the water is FREE! Three, they have reliable wifi and power strips at the outlets! Four, hot showers AND even hot water in the sinks. These things are how you can tell the caretakers really care about guests experiences. Finally, they have two hut kitties ❤️ This is probably the best hut I’ve been to in the Alps. Thank you Toby,...
