Ferienhotel Koralpe - St. Stefan im Lavanttal — Hotel in Wolfsberg

We decided to squeeze in a little skiing with our 2-year old and we looked for a 'günstig' accommodation directly next to the slopes to make the most of the 2 days we had. Hotel Koralpe was advertised as a 3 star hotel by the travel agency. We have stayed at Austrian hotels and rented rooms earlier as well while skiing in the past and we were always more than satisfied with the quality. Until now. This is not a hotel, more like an aparthotel but even for that the standards are pretty poor. Upon arrival you also get your own bedlinen. Once you're checked-in, you're no longer allowed to park in front of the hotel, despite the fact that there are plenty of empty spaces not reserved for new arrivers. There is no room service or cleaning, only after you leave. They do take the trash away daily. We ordered halfboard. That was a mistake. For breakfast you get a full plate with all the treats of continental breakfast - cold cuts on top of cheese and jam with rolls. You cannot choose on your own from a table, it's already laid out for you. If you want something else, you can opt for muesli with milk. Forget about gluten-free diets. Dinner is served at a nearby hutte, there are no choices available, you get a bowl of soup and a second meal. Brought back memories of the terrible school cantine from my childhood. If you're a vegetarian you can request a dish without meat, but only if you requested it earlier at the reception. Which is closed during the day... Wifi is only available at the common room.||The room is spacious, but you resent every moment you spend in there. The bathroom is ok. The batteries in the TV remote did not work, they expired sometime in 2010.||On the plus side I have to mention that it was cheap, as the deal we took included the ski passes too. The staff was helpful - when they are around. The ski region is very good, I'd recommend it to every families with small children, just avoid staying at...

Wir haben ein günstiges Angebot genutzt und wollten ein nettes Wochenende auf der Koralpe verbringen. Unser Kärntner Freund buchte leider direkt im sogenannten "Hotel" und bezahlte für eine Nacht und eine Person € 78 - bei der gebotenen Leistung kann man das nur als Wucher bezeichnen. Die Bezeichnung "Hotel" ist irreführend, das Haus hat weder ein Restaurant noch eine Bar o.ä., keine Sauna, die Infrarotkabine in einem Abstellraum ist wohl mehr Alibi, die Rezeption ist bis 18 Uhr besetzt, das Frühstück ist äußerst dürftig (billigste Wurst und Käse, eine Sorte Brötchen, abgepackte Marmelade und Honig, Müsli und Joghurt und Pfirsich und Ananas aus der Dose - absolut nichts frisches, nicht einmal eine Tomatenspalte oder ein Apfel o.ä., der Frühstücksraum ist hässlich und lieblos, die Plastik-Tischsets kleben und der Weihnachtsmann als Dekoration auf dem Tisch ist im Februar wohl überfällig. Unser Zimmer war schmutzig, der Duschkopf fehlte, der Duschschlauch lag ohne Duschkopf in der Dusche, die TV-Fernbedienung fehlte, dafür gab es jede Menge Dreck und diverse Rückstände unserer Vormieter unter den Betten... grausig! Die Heizung funktionierte. Nachts war es durch das gegenüber liegende "Heizhaus", welches vom Hotel zum Essen empfohlen wird, sehr laut - leider haben wir die Empfehlung angenommen, das Essen war miserabel. So naja. Der Aufenthalt hat seinen Zweck (Übernachtung nach dem Wandern) erfüllt aber auch nicht mehr. Das Zimmer ist geräumig aber nicht gemütlich - es gibt genügend Stauraum. Die Nachttischlampe hat nicht funktioniert, die mussten wir selbst zum Gehen bringen. Es ist schade, dass es einen großen Balkon gibt aber keinen Tisch und keine Sitzmöglichkeiten. Dem gesamten Haus fehlt es an Charme. Wenn man das Hotel betritt, fühlt man sich nicht, als wäre man im Lavanttal. Was wirklich sehr schade ist. Die Gastgeber orientieren sich zu 90 % an ungarischen Gästen. Die meisten Aushänge sind nur in ungarischer Sprache zu lesen, nicht in englisch, geschweige denn auf deutsch. Das Personal kommuniziert nur das Notwendigste, ja sie sind freundlich aber es fehlt an Herzlichkeit und das gewisse Etwas, dass man sich Willkommen fühlt. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist vielfältig und hat gut geschmeckt jedoch sind die Frühstücksräumlichkeiten nicht einladend. Mit Tischdecken oder Blumen am Tisch, Pflanzen oder anderer liebevoller Deko im Raum, Bildern an der Wand könnte man mit einfachen Mitteln für ein liebevolles und gemütliches Ambiente sorgen. Die Räume sind leider sehr kahl und man fühlt sich nicht wohl. Wie gesagt, das Haus erfüllt den Zweck zur Übernachtung aber leider nicht mehr. Es gibt viel...
