Recently had an opportunity to visit Sea Breeze resort just outside of Baku and from reading a number of reviews was mildly apprehensive given there’s a lot of negativity about the resort. That said, we had a great time! Ok, although it’s a beach resort, it’s not exactly a beach so don’t expect white sands because the Caspian Sea isn’t an open water sea so its make up is a lot different, think dark brown sands but it was nice enough and kept spotlessly clean by the army of employees. There are a number of restaurants, bars and food outlets along the beach and in the resort so there’s plenty of choice and although more expensive than the city, they are pretty reasonable. ||We ate in Mua by Adress on one night with lamb kebab, pizza and it was fine. I’d read (again) some negative comments about the waiters etc. but on this night, they were great with food suggestions even if they didn’t speak much English. I guess we’re lucky in that we can read, speak and understand some Azerbaijani so that certainly helped and it certainly surprised them when we started talking. Other places where we ate were Kababchi, Havana and Beer Basha and in all relatively the same experience. I say relatively because I want to single out the staff in Havana as excellent. When we arrived there just for drinks there were no tables so they put on on beanbags on the beach which being of a certain age made a few people laugh when I tried to get up. But then when a table became available, we were able to move and it was such a nice atmosphere we stayed longer than expected even having some light snacks there.||We stayed at the newly refurbished White Residences and from the room condition, I think we were one of if not the first people to stay. Room was large, had a built in fridge, hot plate and sink which added to the residence feel. Unfortunately though, other than a kettle, some cups and some glasses it didn’t have anything else such as a pan, a plate, bowl, knife and fork or even a kitchen bin. When we asked in reception we were told that these weren’t provided which seems a little odd. Also for the lady readers, there wasn’t a hair dryer so remember one from home. Oh, also there’s no safe in the room so keep your valuables locked away in luggage, the resort itself feels really safe but you never know. There’s a Bravo mini market not far from the hotel for bread, milk, water etc. but we’d brought enough food from home given the reviews we’d read, just in case even if most of it was ‘cold’ based given the lack of a pan. A few minor pans and utensils would make the world of difference and a toaster given that the on site restaurant didn’t open until lunch time. One other point to note was that we booked a sea view room on level 1 or ground floor but unfortunately they’d planted a tree screen in front of the balcony so you couldn’t see the pool let alone the sea so when next booking, I’d select a higher floor.||The White Residences pool was lovely and quiet for the whole weekend we were there and on times it was like our own private pool which was a world away from the hustle, bustle, noise of the main pool at Sea Breeze itself. One significant thing to mention is the towel situation. To get one, you need a wristband and it’s a 20AZN deposit to get one but unfortunately you don’t get it from White Residence you have to get it from White Villas reception which is about a km away and even after we’d got them there was some confusion as they were a different colour to the ones we’d seen (green vs black). I think we were a little annoyed at that because it wasn’t explained to us as we were in the main resort when we were told we couldn’t have towels to walk to Residence only to be told we needed to go back to where we just were. Of course then to get your deposit back, you have to go there again. It’s not a problem but I think if they just had some details printed in the rooms in multiple languages may ease some frustrations. ||Overall we really enjoyed ourselves. It really does feel like you’re on holiday when you’re there and in spite of our reservations the staff were friendly, the food was good and the overall atmosphere was really nice. I think with some tweaks to the accommodation it could be better and if there was some sort of welcome pack people would better understand some of the processes but our experience means we will be back to...

We are currently renting a flat through Sea Breeze in Polo Residence for 10 days, and it’s been nothing but a nightmare from day one.
No Working AC – Completely Ignored On arrival, not a single AC unit in the flat is working. We report it to reception immediately and are told that "someone will come soon" – but no one shows up for three full days. The temperature in the flat is over +33°C, while it’s +32°C outside. We keep following up, and all our comments are ignored. Today, finally, someone comes to “fix” it, and yet – the system is still not working.
Unsafe and Poor-Quality Renovation The condition of the flat is appalling. The renovation is so cheap and poorly done that the bathroom door handle falls off, trapping our friend inside. She suffers a panic attack, nearly faints due to no oxygen, and no help comes from the staff. Another friend arrives and has to break the lock to get her out. It's not just uncomfortable – it's genuinely unsafe.
Daily Booking Mistakes and Rude Staff Every single day, there is some issue with our reservations. Whether it’s pool beds, beach access, or other services – there is always a mistake. The staff are rude and unhelpful. For example, at Nikki Beach, we book two pool beds and are told we only have one. They claim it’s a “special place they manage themselves” and refuse to give us the second bed until we argue and show the booking confirmation. Only then do they agree.
Working in tourism and hospitality myself, I can confidently say this is not how guests should be treated. Even though our stay isn’t over yet, we already know that we would not recommend Sea Breeze.
I really hope management takes this seriously and does something to improve guest relations, service quality, and the overall safety and comfort of...
Read moreSea Breeze is undoubtedly one of the best places to visit in Baku during the summer season. It combines everything you could want in a beachside experience—bars, lively parties, a clean beach, and multiple clubs, making it a hotspot for both relaxation and entertainment. In addition to the nightlife, you’ll also find popular international food chains like Gloria Jeans, KFC, and McDonald’s, so there are plenty of dining options available right on-site.
The beach itself is very clean and well-maintained, which makes it stand out compared to other public beaches in the city. For example, the beach near my hotel (Marriott Boulevard Hotel) was quite dark and had an unpleasant smell, whereas Sea Breeze felt fresh, clear, and welcoming. You can enjoy sunbathing, swimming, or simply relaxing by the sea in a vibrant atmosphere.
However, timing is very important. Sea Breeze operates only during the summer months and usually closes before the end of September. We visited on September 22, and unfortunately, it was already closed. The area felt almost deserted, the weather was chilly, and the sea water was too cold for swimming. So if you want the full experience of parties, crowds, and summer fun, you must plan your visit before September.
Overall, Sea Breeze is a must-visit in Baku for anyone looking to enjoy the beach lifestyle, vibrant nightlife, and a clean, refreshing seaside environment. Just make sure to go during the summer to experience it...
