I am very happy that we stayed at the Khan Lankaran, this probably made a huge difference to our experience there. Lankaran is a really small place and it was quite difficult to communicate because of the language barrier. The receptionist at the Khan Lankaran spoke very fluent English and he completely made our stay! He helped us plan our sightseeing, and book taxis as well and since we couldn't talk to the taxi driver, we had to call him a few times over to explain what we needed. He was very patient and polite, even when we called him outside his working hours, which we did on more than one occasion.||||Our room was very clean and so was the bathroom. The walls and the wood work and traditional rugs add a cozy touch. There is a nice garden restaurant as well which was very pleasant to have breakfast in and start our day.||||In terms of location, the hotel is right next to the bus stand, but we were not bothered by it at all. The rooms all open out into the corridor overlooking the garden and there are no night buses really so we hardly noticed the bus stand after a while. The hotel also booked us on the bus back to Baku. The hotel is a bit out of the centre of town, but after we walked around there a bit, we were quite happy to not be there. Unlike Baku, the town centre of Lankaran is not particularly charming. The countryside around is much prettier.||There are a couple of big supermarkets just across the road from Khan Lankaran. ||||Staying here definitely made our visit to Lankaran...
Read moreThe hotel has convenient location at Avtovağzal that could be easily reached in few minutes by taxi from Lənkəran airport or few hours by bus from Bakı. The rooms and halls boast handmade furniture, sheepskins, traditional carpets and other art objects that create cozy atmosphere. At the same time bathroom taps, wifi router and other equipment is modern enough and work flawlessly (unless some storm caused electricity blackout that lasts only few minutes). ||||However the best thing about Khan Lankaran Hotel are friendly persons who work there. We are particularly grateful to Farid who was in charge of Reception during our 4 days/nights at the hotel. He ultimately became the master organizer for Lankaran part of our Azerbaijan vacation recommending to us various trips for different days (according to weather conditions), arranging transportation, answering questions and giving advices. We very much appreciate all the help provided. It made us feel at home in the hotel and in Lankaran.||||The food in the restaurant tastes better and costs less than in larger cities. Menu sheets exist in three languages (AZ/EN/RU) combined all together they could be used as "dictionaries" if you need help to translate names of various dishes. The breakfasts have special rustic charm with freshly backed bread and local tea with...
Read moreStunning hotel in Lankaran. You feel like you’re in a museum just by being there. Everything is decorated wonderfully. The wifi in the room was perfect, even for streaming. Breakfast was wonderful each day. A cheese/butter board with cucumber and tomato and an omelette, bread, and of course, tea. I ate at the restaurant each night. They have a menu in English, but honestly, just ask for the Azerbaijanian one and use google translate because they have more on there. Staff were friendly, and whilst a little difficult to communicate, even as a Russian speaker, they were helpful. One member of the reception team does speak perfect English. Beautiful old looking building, but Western facilities inside. The shower was amazing and strong (just the draining was a bit slow).|If you take a bus from Baku, the hostel is about 1 minute from the bus station which...
