Palmalife Resort is located a bit outside of Lankaran but easily accessible by car. Check in was swift, our group got rooms on the 2nd floor. My room 205 was furnished with wardrobe, drawers, desk, safety deposit box, empty fridge, kettle, more furniture than in most hotel rooms but some of it looked worn because of cheap quality. Clean white towels, hot water in the shower. ||There was a TV but I could not get a single channel. Internet: non-existing. The plug of the lamp on the nightstand was not plugged into the socket so I did it by myself and was almost electrocuted, the short-circuit I produced was so strong that the cable was cut from the plug, and I had black fingers. The interior design of my room was kitsch, no need for the artificial flowers and the floor lamp constructed with aluminium wires, nor the butterflies in the wall paper. Curtains do not keep the room dark in the morning.||At the time of our stay the restaurant on the 3rd floor was not open for dinner but we were served breakfast, with honey, cream, cheese, 1 boiled egg, tea, coffee and bread. From the breakfast/dining area we had a good view on the swimming pool (only filled with a bit of dirty water), tennis court, and a small football pitch. There is a playground for children. Probably a good place for families during the summer months. ||Cottages are available for families. All in all this resort could do much better but there seems to be lack of maintenance and management. Staff was very helpful...
Read moreBooking.com got it wrong by advertising this hotel as a five stars hotel. We checked with the local office of the ministry of tourism who stated the this is an unrated ( has no stars) accommodation. Indeed the hotel itself didn’t display any stars.||It has a large swimming pool however it is open to the public for a fee and can be busy with local men making it uncomfortable for ladies and families.||The beach is 10 minutes away, you need to pass by rubbish bins, stray dogs and railway tracks to reach it. Again it is open to the public for a fee.||The AC didn’t work in the room and took us two days to persothe staff to move us to another room, only to find that it had a faulty AC also. The room temperature was between 25- 26 degrees making sleep very uncomfortable.||The shower cubicle was covered with black mold.||The gym was neglected, the machines didn’t work and some were dismantled,||The breakfast was served late between 9-11. The food was simple and unappetising .||The staff were polite, helpful and trying their best to try and solve problems but the property is in urgent need for refurbishment.||There are 4 stars hotels in the area cheaper in price and...
Read moreWe stayed 4 days in this comfy and relaxing hotel in June 2018. We were a group of 28-29 people accommodated in something like 7 rooms and 2 villas, (if I am right).||We received a very warm welcome and a great service during our stay despite the fact that we did not speak Azari and the staff did not speak English very well.||The rooms were clean and were well maintained regularly every day. Internet was very good, (comparing to what we have in Iran!) breakfast was good and very well served. The buffet was immediately and generously refurbished upon consumption and the quality of the food we ordered from the menu was good. ||Perhaps it is not to be compared with a 5 star resort in Dubai, Thailand, Seashells and Maldives, it is Lankaran and we must have realistic and logical expectations! That is why I rate this hotel excellent and recognize it as a perfect choice for a low-cost...
