Bahama Dreamin Ocean Front Villas — Hotel in Long Island

As soon as I saw the website opening view I knew that's where I wanted to stay. I had spent time in the Bahamas but not on Long Island. It's a long island and the location seemed good for traveling both north and south. I arrived after having to overnight in Nassau because of a major Dec. storm which continued for several days. The villas are perhaps 200' from the rock wall that falls about 30' to the ocean pool below and beyond is the rolling Atlantic. The surf pounded all the while I was there. I settled in using only one bedroom and bath with the comfortable bed where I could sit up and see the ocean. The towels were wonderful and I loved the walk-in shower with the water control not under the showerhead. I tended to cook for myself quite often and if something was lacking, Robin or Mike took care of it quickly. They also lead me to Max's Conch Bar nearby where I met and remet interesting people. The people of the island, local and visitors, were a highlight of my time on the island. Robin's hospitality included inviting me to come to a community meal. Having a CAR at my disposal, provided by Bahama Dreamin, was outstanding! It allowed a freedom that helped make me feel that I was at home there. The no-see-em screened porch was delightful day and night. My only negative comment, and my fault for not pursuing, is that the landing at the bottom of the stairs is rock and not sand. We have stayed on Long Island 7 times since 2011 and 5 of those times were at Bahama Dreamin. Our next trip is next month and we will stay at Bahama Dreamin again. We find it is in the perfect location for exploring the world class beaches on either end of the island. Most importantly it is down the road from Max's Conch Bar and Grill. This is the best bar and food on the island. Gary and Liz are amazing hosts as well.

We love the island so much we got married on Long Island in 2014 and Mike and Robin were there. They are great hosts as well so don't worry if anything goes wrong they will help. If this is your fist trip ask for advice they will send you to the right spots.

The villas are perfectly appointed and are very comfortable. We have stayed at fancier places sure but they still aren't as good as bahama dreamin. Bahama Dreamin is one of the best deals in the Bahamas. They have the most amazing view from the villas. A perfect night is sitting on the patio drinking wine and listening to the waves and if your lucky watching ships pass in the distance. It is perfection. My favorite mornings are taking a cup of coffee down to the little beach and then swimming to chimney rock. The water in front of the villas is so much fun to snorkel.

Make sure you take plenty of sun block, anti-itch cream, bug killer juice whatever works for noseeums, sun glasses, hats, and aloe vera lotions.

We recommend Bahamas Dreamin for your next stay or for your first stay on Long Island. Situated on a gorgeous bluff overlooking the Atlantic, Bahamas Dreamin has an idyllic 180 degree view. You will hear the roaring surf, and you can snorkel, collect sea glass, swim or hike directly in front of the Villas. The Villas include a well stocked kitchen, and one or two bedrooms and baths as needed. The beds are comfortable with high-quality linens. We particularly enjoy spending time on the screened-in porch overlooking the crashing waves of the Atlantic beyond the quieter protected cove. The location is central island which is a benefit as Long Island is 90 miles long. Grocery and restaurants are near by. Particularly close is Max's Conch Bar which is an island favorite!! There are four villas, so often you will meet other travelers, who have come to enjoy Bahamas Dreamin over the years. We have always enjoyed the other guests of Bahama Dreamin.
