The travel was easy and the lodge and fishing were great. Cheryl (the owner of the lodge) and her staff were fantastic and made us super comfortable and treated us with some really great seafood and awesome accommodations! Randy Thompson was our guide for all three days and he was also really amazing. He worked hard to put us in dozens of different spots for the best combinations of weather (sunlight, protection from wind, etc.) and tide level in order to get us the best chances of seeing the bonefish — although, he had some eagle-eyes and could see fish that we couldn’t see until they were hooked on our lines! He also did a great job at calling when to strip and when to keep the fly still and he was the reason I caught 18 out of my 20 bones on this trip. The weather was tough at times — there were isolated thunderstorms for the first two days, and then really strong ones on the last day, but Randy knew how to weave through the isolated ones and keep us on fish while also keeping us dry.||Overall, it was an awesome trip and I’d highly recommend it for anyone who is looking to get into saltwater fishing for the first time or for people who are looking to get a lot of bonefish AND...
Read moreSwain's Cay is a perfect lodge to visit on Andros Island. The lodge provides nice accommodations, great food and a lovely setting looking out at crystal blue waters. We bonefished for three days in November. Swain's offers the opportunity to fish both the middle bight and the south bight which is a plus! The guides are the best on the island and have been doing it for decades. I can't say enough about the staff, starting with owner Cheryl Bastain. She is present every day and has put together a group that remembers your name, looks after all of your needs, prepares food like fresh grouper, lobster, ribs and hosts a cocktail gathering each evening with fish bites, cheeses and meats, meatball apps, etc. Simply delicious and a great way to share stories about the day. Go and give it a try - you will not be...
Read moreFirstly, I must confess that I am a local resident of The Bahamas and I am not a fisherman, but I visited Swains Cay Lodge to get away just for relaxation and refreshing. This was the best decision I would have ever made. Very quaint, peaceful, clean and unique hotel. I was also blown way by the service and friendliness of all the employees starting from Christian at the check in office to Pam in the restaurant. They all went above and beyond to make me feel like a special guest. The taste and presentation of the food was 4 to 5 star restaurant level.... unforgettable experience. I cannot forget Cheryl, the owner who is always present and pleasant, making sure that all guests are satisfied. The quality of service was definitely something to write home about. Looking forward to my next...
