Read moreYou have to take a water shuttle/tender to get here. You are issued tender tickets on the ship to call you off in groups. The tenders are large and have an upper and lower level with covered and uncovered seating. From boarding, to boating, to unloading the process takes about 15-20 minutes. Then you can choose to go left or right. Left is the main area. There are a lot of seating/loungers, gift shops, an observation tower, two bars, some pier structures, and lots of beach, and a large dining area with a lot of picnic tables. The right side is smaller and less crowded. There is one bar and a smaller dining area with less seating. There are still plenty of lounge chairs though. Since the right side is more rocky it is better for some snorkeling. Just remember to bring your water shoes. We got off early to get prime seating in the shade of some palm trees, we also snorkeled earlier in the morning when it was less crowded as well. They have a basketball court too to play. Try to get off early and get back on early if you can. If you wait until closer to the all aboard time (even an hour-hour and a half before) there is a very long line to get back on a tender boat back to the ship. It can be an hour to an hour and a half long wait in the hot sun with no shade. Luckily princess came around with cold towels and water but it was still quite the backup at the end of the day. Also keep in mind the bar has limited supply so they have a limited menu and limited quantity. There are two places here on the island to dine. On the left side, and the sea breeze grill on the right side. The sea breeze is smaller with two lines. The one on the main left side is larger with 4 lines. This is all very simple beach bbq food. Hot dogs, hamburgers, grilled chicken, fish, baby ribs, some sides, and some fruit, and a cookie. It is nice that is food is included on the beach, but its just very basic. The only vegetarian option is the fish and the little sides like potato salad. Just adjust your expectations accordingly and you will find...
Read moreWhen you arrive, you can go left or right - when facing island. Left is where most people go- busier, louder, crowded, vendors. Right is smaller, less crowded, quieter. Both beaches are soft sand. There is food/drink on both sides. Food is not good - burgers, dogs, sausages, fish, spare ribs, large chicken thighs. Buns were stale. Suggest sausage as safest bet. Fruit was good- watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapple, melon, apples, banana.
On the right- snorkeling is bad. 0/10. Not sure why anyone wrote positive things. Few small fish and lots of dead coral. That's it. From afar, lefr looked the same. On the far right, there is a peak about 250 yds from dock- improves to 3/10 beyond the peak. More fish and some live coral and lots of sea urchins- all close to shore. Where the last chairs are, go about 75yds out and there a some conch type shells. Waves were small but powerful. Easily put an adult off balance close to shore. Pretty rocky as well after 5 ft in the water.. Not good for walking around in the water. Basketball and volleyball court available. Lots of shaded areas. Gets deep fast - not ideal for little kids- strong waves too. To the far right, it's shallow but rocky.
Good beach day. Lots of chairs for everyone. Canopies are bit of a waste as there is a lot of shade. Our ship was full over 3100 and there were a lot of chairs.
Tendering takes a long time. Get in line at least 30min before they hand out tender tickets. Time on the island is very short. On the island you can get off the tender from the top and bottom. At the ship, you can only get off...
