Mayabi Palace is a minimalist boutique hotel located on Gohail Road, Bogra.
I stayed at this hotel for 3 days. The room rate was ৳1200 + 20% service charge = ৳1400 per night, including breakfast. The hotel is quite new, and construction work is still ongoing. Currently, they have only 8 rooms on the 3rd floor, but in the future, they plan to expand with more rooms, along with a swimming pool and a gym. Since the property is under construction, the rooftop area where the rooms are located feels quite open and spacious.
There is no in-house restaurant. However, if you request food, they arrange it from outside. The complimentary breakfast is provided under their “Package 6” (worth ৳98), which includes 2 parathas, 1 vegetable, and 1 egg. They usually collect it from reputed local hotels such as Akboria or Shyamoli, so the quality was quite good.
Now, regarding the service: There was only one staff member, Md. Fahim Hossain, who handled everything—from guest service to hotel maintenance. Naturally, it’s nearly impossible for a single person to provide timely service to all guests. More staff should definitely be hired. Still, Fahim did his best. Due to being alone, sometimes breakfast service was delayed.
That being said, the breakfast itself was quite satisfying, especially since it came from well-known places like Akboria and Shyamoli.
The rooms have new air conditioners, which worked well and kept the room cool. However, the room sizes are relatively small. During my stay, the geyser was there but it wasn’t working, and because of the staff shortage it wasn’t fixed either. Since it wasn’t winter, this didn’t cause much trouble. But managing both the reception and room service alone is clearly too much for one person.
Overall, as a solo, budget-friendly traveler, I found the hotel decent. Once the construction is completed and facilities like the swimming pool are added, I believe the service and experience will improve significantly. In fact, I would love to come back again once the full hotel, including the swimming pool, is...

Read moreIt so happened that I arrived in Bog(u)ra at night. And my booking on booking.com was scheduled from noon of the day that had just begun. But fortunately the guys opened the doors for me, and I was able to spend the night. In the morning there was also breakfast. It cost me 1800 taka, though. Of the downsides, I can only point out that when checking in they ask too much information. For example, why do they need to know my father's name? Let's say I am Russian. We already have the father's name in the full name. But in the English-language tradition, this is...
