We (my wife and I) started our journey from Dhaka to Cox's Bazar on the night of the 6th for our Eid vacation. We reached the hotel around 8:00 AM on the 7th (Eid day) morning. While booking in advance, I had clearly mentioned that we would arrive early in the morning and they agreed to make necessary arrangements accordingly.
However, after reaching the hotel, they kept us waiting until 11:00 AM. We were made to sit in the lobby area right in front of the reception, where there was no air conditioning—only a fan. We also noticed another couple sleeping on the sofa there, which made it clear that they too were previous victims of the same situation.
We asked for an extra fan but the staff forgot about it instantly after promising to arrange one. Interestingly, there were vacant rooms available but they still delayed handing over the room to us, stating that it was Eid morning and many of their staff members were on vacation—which caused the slow service. Considering the fact that it was Eid day and the morning prayer time, we chose not to raise any further complaints at that moment.
While booking, they had told us there were two types of rooms available: Garden View and Swimming Pool View. Our booking was supposed to be for a Garden View room, but they gave us a Sea View room instead. However, the sea was quite far away, and what we actually saw more clearly was their tin-roofed canteen.
The room itself was nice, but it got extremely hot during the daytime. The washroom was good too but the water pressure was very low. One evening, there was no water at all, and we had to call them to fix it.
As for food, the taste was good and the price was reasonable, but the service was poor as usual. One evening we ordered noodles and it arrived after more than an hour.
Another couple from Chittagong joined us there. We had requested adjacent rooms but when they entered their room, they discovered the AC was broken. Eventually, they were shifted to another room.
We had also requested room service before going out, but when we returned, the room was not cleaned. When we complained again, they gave the same excuse—that they were short on staff. But in reality, we noticed that there were enough staff members; it was more a matter of lack of willingness or motivation to provide proper service.
Even for the complimentary water, we had to ask them separately the next day.
Room Rent per Night: 4,250 BDT for a couple room.
Suggestion: Our only suggestion would be to improve the service quality. If they could ensure good service, we would consider staying there again in the future. But for now, we are keeping that option...
Read moreJudged by their willingness and effort to please the guests, the staff of Inani Royal Reaort should receive the highest rating. Sadly they do not have the wherewithal to do a proper job; neither in terms of understanding and skills needed in the hospitality business nor in terms of the facilities available in the resort. So their eagerness to be useful can often turn into clumsy, bumbling efforts.|The resort is in Inani, some 22 kms from Cox's Bazaar. It is ideal for peace and quiet seekers, remaining relatively quiet even when Cox's Bazaar beach is over crowded during the peak season.|Situated on 2.37 acres of land, the resort consists of 48 rooms, 8 three sroreyed cottages each having 6 rooms. There is a huge restaurant that can seat 200 people.|The design of the resort is weird. It is situated right on the Inani beach, with only the Marine Drive Road between the resort and the beach. One would have thought that one would take advantage of this and design the resort to give maximum sea view. Actually only a few of the rooms, and that too on the top floor, have any sea view. You enter the resort through a building that houses the office and the restaurant. The cottages are behind this. The restaurant roof is so high that it blocks the sea view completely of all rooms except that of some on the top floor. We had booked sea view rooms but were initially given rooms from which all we could see was the red roof of the restaurant. After protesting, we were shifted promptly to the top floor with excellent view of the sea. This was perhaps not too difficult since we four appeared to be the only guests at the resort.|The upkeep of the cottages is poor, with non functioning bathroom fittings and termite infested wardrobes. The shower is within the bath tub which does not have a shower curtain, so every shower leaves a very wet bathroom.|The resort does not have some of its advertised facilities like Wi fi, Travel Desk, Roof Top BBQ Restaurant etc.|The restaurant, Coral Point Restaurant, is huge. During our stay, we four were often the only guests at meals. The food is average and not all the items on the menu are available.|As I said at the beginning, the staff of Inani Royal Resort were extremely helpful and eager to make our stay comfortable. They were very flexible with meal times and made adjustments to suit us. On Eid day ( Sep 13) they invited us to have lunch with them. I wonder whether these fine people have any future in an establishment that is managed...
Read moreThis is a comparatively better looking hotel than similar type.||The entrance and restaurant decoration are praiseworthy. Entrance has a glass domoe, which makes it special.||No coffee or tea in room @ Tk.6000/- per night in sea view rooms.||We were given the impression that the hotel/resort is going to be fully booked. But found it to be 80% booked.||This resort is 30km away from Kolatoli, where most A/C buses have their last stop.||From airport this resort is likely to be 35km away. Distance is a deterrent to come and stay here. Not very many shops around. So nothing much to fo after sunset. ||The journey to city centre is around Tk. 400/500 making the resort less attractive to budget middle classes.
